Charley’s Web by Joy Fielding

May 3, 2008 by Darlene

Another good read from Joy Fielding. The story follows Charley who writes a pretty controversial column for a newspaper. So controversial in fact that she gets scathing emails on a regular basis. She ends up being contacted by a convicted murderer, Jill, to write ‘her side of the story’. So Charley meets her, agrees to write her story, secures a book deal, and from there things begin to unravel for Charley. I like that the novel had some mystery and suspense and kept me reading. The only thing I found that dragged along was some of Charley’s conversations with Jill the murderer. However, the story does take some interesting twists and turns and keeps you wondering to the end. I have to say I didn’t enjoy this novel as much as some of her others but still it was a good read.
