Readin’ and Knittin’

June 25, 2008 by Darlene

What a beautiful day here today. The sun is shining and it’s warm. I’m really enjoying Twenty Wishes and should have it finished tonight so there will be a review up tomorrow.

Since it’s hot I’ve decided to get busy on knitting my dishcloths. I make my mom a whole pile of them for Christmas every year. I leave the afghans that I love making for the winter time. Isn’t this one a pretty color? It’s striped cotton yarn and it looks really pretty when finished. I’ll remember to post a pic when I’m done with it.

Well the dog wants to sit outside for a bit so I’ll go enjoy the sunshine a bit more. You have to enjoy every minute of this warm weather when you live in Canada! Enjoy your day everyone!

How nice! I love to knit small projects — they actually get finished.

LOL. Isn’t that just the truth of it Julie. A dishcloth is so quick that it’s almost instant gratification.

It is quite a coincidence that you posted this. I just bought some cotton yarn yesterday to try making my first dishcloths. I’m a bit of a newbie when it comes to knitting so hopefully they turn out. Love your blog!

I love the color!! I started to crochet several years ago, but didn’t really love anything that I made. I recently got a sewing machine so the wheels have been turning as to what to sew–maybe a little lap quilt (I did a queen sized one a few years ago, but it is way too big!).

The lap blankets have become very popular-in knitting and crocheting too. I made one just before summer started for a friend. It’s nice because they aren’t too big to be unmanageable but still nice and cozy. I hope you make something soon Trish and post a pic!
