We’ve got beautiful weather today. The perfect day to sit outside and relax while reading. Hopefully we’re not in for a storm tonight with this heat. We got a good one last evening. Here is a pic of some of my petunias-they’re really lovely this year.
Anyhow, I went and bought a few more books. I still had some money from a gift certificate so I used it. I have a birthday coming up so I’m hoping more book store gift certificates come my way. Let’s see-what did I buy. Oh yes, here is my list: The Sugar Queen by Sarah Addison Allen, Mister Pip by Lloyd Jones, Stone Creek by Victoria Lustbader, Sail by James Patterson, and Memory of Water by Karen White. I had some of them on hold at the library but then decided I just couldn’t wait. I should be getting them in a few days.
So, I haven’t had many reviews in the last bit because of these big chunkster books I decided to pick up. I should be finishing the The Other Boleyn Girl by tomorrow I would think.
Happy Reading to all!
The 3 books you are reading right now are so different! How do you keep everything straight? I’ve tried, not with much success, to read more than one book at a time, but I always mix things up!
I think we have similar book tastes. I enjoyed both East of Eden and The Other Boleyn Girl, and I have The Sugar Queen and Stone Creek on my list. I recently celebrated a birthday, and I now have some gift cards to use–isn’t that the best?!
Hi Laura, believe it or not I can keep the story lines straight. It depends on what I feel like sometimes as to what I’ll read. LOL. Although right now I admit to being totally addicted to The Other Boleyn Girl. I agree that we have similar book tastes. I have you on my Google Reader and am always on the lookout for new reviews from you. I noticed you read The Queen’s Fool. I have that on my TBR list. She has a new one ooming out too that will probably end up on my shelf.
I would be broke without gift cards!!! LOL.
Dar – my middle son asked me the same question. It’s like tv. I once watched four soaps during the day and series shows at night. (Remember Dallas and Knots Landing?) It was easy to keep everyone straight. Now that I don’t watch tv, I can keep track of just as many books.
Loved The Other Boleyn Girl! It was my first Phillipa Gregory book. I have The Queen’s Fool but couldn’t get into it. I will be looking for your review for The Sugar Queen, I liked Garden Spells very much.I am reading Stone Creek along with East of Eden now.
