Fearless Fourteen by Janet Evanovich

July 22, 2008 by Darlene

This latest installment in the Stephanie Plum series has many laugh out loud moments. I really enjoyed another romp around with Stephanie’s antics.

There isn’t a lot to say about the book as anyone who’s read any of the series knows-there’s not anything really of substance going on-it’s just entertainment. For me-sometimes, that’s really ok. This book was a nice break and it was great to get a couple of good laughs out of it. I have to say this time around there were a lot more ‘risky’ phrases going on than in previous books and they were hilarious.

I’ve seen a few bad reviews of the book saying it hasn’t been as good as the others but I disagree. It was entertaining and it was still typical Stephanie Plum. At the end we’re still left not knowing whether Stephanie will pick Morelli or Ranger and we’re left anticipating what new adventure that Stephanie, Lula and Grandma Mazur will be on in the next book. If you want to read a fast and fluffy novel, this is it.

I have heard several people comment that these books are “laugh out loud” funny. I tried to buy the first one at a used bookstore, but unfortunately, they only had #3-11. I have my eye out for Number 1 though!

Hi Laura, yes it’s good to read from the beginning-that way you really get to know the zany characters in the series. lol.

Sometimes you just want a book that you don’t have to think too hard about. I love that kind! I used to read Janet when she wrote romances for Loveswept, and I know she made me laugh out loud then! I have’t read these yet, but I’m sure I’ll get there eventually.

I agree with you…I heard the rumblings about the series going downhill, but I think they’re just as enjoyable as ever. Fun, fun reads…

I can’t wait to read this one! Usually I have the newest Plum book in my hands the day of or very shortly after the day of its release, but am lagging big time on this one. I LOVE this series – the books are such quick fun reads. I have heard mixed reviews also, but am still very much looking forward to a new adventure with Stephanie!

Lezlie, if you need a laugh, this series totally fits the bill. lol.

Jill, I wonder what it is the people who hated it were expecting. To me, it was the same old Stephanie Plum I’ve grown to love.

April, I can’t wait for your review. You’re going to love it!

I must read one of her books. She is from my hometown, South River, N.J.
