More Knitting & Reading

July 4, 2008 by Darlene

So, I’m busy reading The Third Angel by Alice Hoffman. I’m about half way through and I’m enjoying it. It should be ready for review tomorrow.

I thought I’d share what I’ve been knitting the last few days. I’m making a cabled blanket. It’s being made in panels. I have a long ways to go yet and then I’ll crochet a border around. Hopefully you can see it well enough in this pic. Anyhow, it’s coming along nicely though and it’s fun to do.

Our weather is soooooooo hot the last few weeks. They’re calling for storms tonight. I’m praying we don’t get a tornado as this is definitely tornado weather for us.

Oh and today is my birthday. LOL-yes I know I should live in the States and everybody would be celebrating with me but alas I don’t. It’s been a good day though with lots of birthday wishes and some presents which means more books. LOL.

Well off to do a bit more knitting and a bit more reading.

    Dar,
    Happy, Happy Birthday!

The blanket looks beautiful. I wish I had the talent to knit and crochet. Unfortunately, I belong to the ‘knit – unravel, knit – unravel’ crowd. Very frustrating. So I don’t do it. I read. And play piano (used to teach in another lifetime).

I hope the weather calms soon. Enjoy your day,

    Mary

Thanks for the birthday wishes Mary. I love to knit and crochet-it’s very relaxing. That and read. I would have loved to play the piano. I can listen to piano music for hours.

that is beautiful! do you really knit and read at the same time!? I guess it would work if you were really good and used a book stand or something. Do you?

anyway, your blanket is really pretty.

LOL Bethany, yes, I can read and knit at the same time as long as I have a book that stays open (I don’t have a book stand) and it’s a simple pattern. Thanks for the compliment on the blanket to be. I’ll post a pic of it when it’s further along. Thanks so much for visiting my blog!
