This is the fourth book in the Pretty Little Liars series. This is a Young Adult book so not everyone will be interested but I’ve really enjoyed the series and I’m invested enough in the characters now to want to know what will happen to them in future books.
Unbelievable finds the girls still trying to find out who ‘A’ is and ‘A’ still tormenting them. They are still dealing with the problems they had in previous novels-a bad accident, divorcing parents, trying to figure out sexual identities, and one of them struggling with always having to be perfect.
This novel differs in that we finally find out who ‘A’ was and it was quite a surprise. It certainly wasn’t who I had though it might be. It’s a good lesson in how your childhood can form a lot of the way you feel later on or to what lengths you’ll go to get even.
So, I figure the series is over-Not So! In the blurb for what is to come it looks like someone has decided to take over where the last ‘A’ left off. There has also been a mysterious person in a car that we are left wondering about. With a few hints in the book I’m thinking the dead Ali may have had a twin sisster who had to be hidden for some reason but is now back and out for revenge of her own.
This novel is probably not everyone’s taste but for an easy and entertaining read I really like it and if you like Young Adult fiction at all it’s a good series to follow. I like the mystery Sara Shepard has woven into this series and I’ve come to really like these characters. I’ll be on the lookout for the fifth book in the series!
Sounds like something I can recommend to my high school students. Thanks for the review!
Most definitely Linda! I’d be surprised if they hadn’t heard of the series already. Seems quite popular with the teens.
