Todays question is:
**LT and RL (real-life)- do you have friends in real life that you met through Library Thing? Have you attended any LT meet-ups in your area? Would you be open to attending meet-ups or is LT strictly an online thing for you?
I have not met any real life friends through Library Thing although I did just join up recently. For me, I imagine meet-ups would be more difficult as I live in Canada but I’d certainly be open to them if I could. It’s fun though to be hooking up with my blogging friends there.
How about you…have you met any real life friends on LT or is it more of an online thing for you…
I have a few LT friends but never met anyone in person. Have you heard of Shelfari? their groups (and my friends) are more active there.
I belong to both, and like each one for different reasons.
Hey Wendy, yes I’m on Shelfari also. I too like them both for different reasons. I like the layout of LT better though and it seems easier to organize things. I need to get more of my books on there though-I’ve only entered the ones I’ve read since starting my blog.
So far, LT has just been an online thing for me. Haven’t attended any meet-ups. I actually didn’t even know about LT meet-ups until today. That’s one of the things I like about the Thingers group – it keeps introducing me to more and more stuff I didn’t know about LT.
lol-I didn’t realize they had meet-ups till today either. Always something new to learn.
I would have to say it is more of an online thing for me.
I’ve only been part of LT since June and I didn’t know about the meet-ups either. I’ve never met an online friend in person. Came close once, but we weren’t able to meet after all. Timing was wrong. I’d be open to it, though.
I know there are a bunch of Canadian LTers, but I don’t know how far you are all away from each other 🙂
I’ve never met any LT people in RL, but now I’m thinking about it 🙂
If I’m ever in Canada, let’s get together. Same thing if you find yourself in Virginia. 🙂
Hey Jenn, that would be great! Same for you Mary. It’s awesome meeting others who are as crazy about books as you are. I find through blogging and getting to know you all that we all have others things in common too. It’s great.
Hey Kathleen, I’ll have to check out the other LT Canadians. Who knows, maybe we’re closer than we were aware of. lol.
Ugh! I haven’t been by in a long time. I am sooooo sorry about that! Today was spent withdrawing from all the oreo cookies I ate yesterday. The previous days before that are still bleary. I’m back and trying to get straight again, but I might have to send Steve to the store for another bag…I have no self-control some weeks. 🙂
J.Kaye I can completely relate. I’ve got a wicked migraine today which is partly made worse by the chocolate I’ve been eating. Glad to have you back…
I haven’t met anyone from LT, but I wouldn’t be opposed to it (in the right setting, of course!). Apparently there was a meet-up near here (I’m in the Boston area) a few months ago … I’m still trying to find the local discussion group (and actually am a bit reluctant to add another group to the message boards I check … I have to save more time for reading books!)
Dawn, I absolutely agree. Between working and reading blogs, when do we get to the books??? lol.
I would love to meet everyone:) You are all so nice!
