Well, I’m back. I missed this last week. Let’s see, this week’s Musing Mondays is on reading. Here goes…
WHAT ARE YOU READING RIGHT NOW?
- Immortal by Traci L. Slatton, Nefertiti by Michelle Moran, The Triumph of Deborah by Eva Etzioni-Halevy and The Letters by Luanne Rice & Joseph Monninger
WHY ARE YOU READING WHAT YOU’RE READING? PLEASURE? FOR REVIEW? SOMETHING ELSE?
- Let’s see I’m reading Immortal for The Literate Housewives online book club and pleasure because I’m liking it. I’m reading Nefertiti for pleasure and liking it a great deal. Both The Triumph of Deborah and The Letters are for review.
WHAT DID YOU RECENTLY FINISH READING?
- Hmmmm, oh yes-Half of a Yellow Sun which I enjoyed a great deal and Lady Chatterley’s Lover which was ok.
WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU’LL BE READING NEXT?
- Next in line is Little Women by Louisa May Alcott, Too Close To Home by Linwood Barclay and The Firemaster’s Mistress by Christie Dickason.
WHAT WAS THE BEST BOOK YOU READ THIS MONTH? WHY?
- Well this month I would say I read a few good ones I would have to say Half a Yellow Sun was the best because I learned something along with reading a good book and I always like that.
WHAT WAS THE WORST BOOK YOU READ THIS MONTH? WHY?
- I dislike classing a book as the worst but if I had to I would say Lady Chatterley’s Lover, not because it was so bad, just because it wasn’t the best for me personally.
So, how about all of you. Join in and let me know your answers to these questions.
Ha, I missed last week too!
You have a super nice list! 🙂
I remember Lady Chatterley’s Lover as being pretty boring. But that was a long time ago. I plan to read it again. Someday. 🙂
Lezlie
Thanks ladies.
Lezlie, now I’m curious to read what others get from Chatterley. Personally I think it’s just me and the classics. lol.
You have an interesting list Dar!
I’m trying to read two books now at the same time. I can juggle if it they are different genres and that helps.
I haven’t read Lady C’s Lover before, but I’m shocked that people have found it boring. If that is in fact the case, the title is false advertising. Very sad indeed.
Great list.
I really want to read Nefertiti.
I hope you enjoy it, Dar and can’t wait to read your review.
Bonnie, I can read 3 or 4 at the same time but if one really grabs my interest I’ll keep going with it till it’s finished.
Jennifer, I don’t think the premise of the story is boring. I think for me it was more the writing that seemed to drag.
Shana, Nefertiti is really good so far. I love historical fiction so much.
Oh my goodness Dar that is a long list of books! When I had more free time I could juggle two books at once but never four 😉 Now I’m lucky to finish one at a time! I’m sorry you didn’t like Lady Chatterley’s Lover more…I’m off to read your review now.
Oooo–you’re reading Nefertiti?? I can’t wait to see what you think about it! I’ve read lots of good reviews on it, and I really want to read it!
I hope you like Little Women as much as I do!
Laura, Nefertiti is really good so far. I think that’s the book I’m going to settle in with tonight. I’ll be starting Little Women tomorrow-I can’t wait!
I also read ‘Immortal’ for ‘The Literate Housewife’s’ book club. I must be the only person that didn’t enjoy ‘Half A Yellow Sun.’ Actually I didn’t finish it.

* sorry if it’s posts twice. hit a wrong key *
Marcia, I’m still working on Immortal. It’s not my favorite but ok. Everyone has different book tastes-I think that’s what makes blogging so interesting too-different views on books. Like I disliked The Gargoyle-had to close it a few chapters in. You just never know.
