Mailbox Monday

October 27, 2008 by Darlene

This is my first Mailbox Monday that I’m participating in although I’ve been reading everyone else’s for ages now. So, not much came into my house last week but these are the ones that did…

  • Going Down South by Bonnie Glover (from the author). This is also a selection that a few of us will be doing in a noontime chat in November so stay tuned for details of that.
  • Your Roots are Showing by Elise Chidley-from Miriam at Hachette Books
  • Dewey: A Small-Town Library Cat Who Touched the World by Bret Witter-this came from Library Thing Early Reviewers

How about you, any books in your mailbox last week?

I’ve never participated in this either but I always enjoy/envy seeing what others are getting! Although I don’t know how y’all keep up! How many books do you average a week, Dar? Lately I’m lucky just to get one in!

Violet, I love the cover and I’ve read good reviews on it too. I’m looking forward to reading it.

bermudaonion, I know-Dewey sounds like such a good story doesn’t it? I’m going to have to fit it in soon.

Bonnie, yours was the first review of it I read I think.

Shana, I think the chat will be fun with all of us too. I like the title of Your Roots are Showing too and I like the cover.

Trish, I read quite fast. In an hour I can make it through half a book. I’ve been on a bit of a reading streak lately and when I am I can make it through quite a few books. I’ll slow down soon I’m sure for a while anyway. lol. I also start 3 or 4 books at a time so they all end up being completed close together and it seems like I’m reading a lot.

Bree, those lists keep growing. To be honest, I’ve already lost track of mine and all the little pieces of paper I write book titles on.

Yasmin, thanks so much. You’re joining in our noontime chat for Going Down South aren’t you? I haven’t gotten around to reading my google reader yet but I’m getting there.

Wow you got three great looking books! I had Dewey set aside for the Read-A-Thon but I ran out of time, I did however take a look at all the pictures (lol)

Callista, Wendi, Dewey does seem to be quite popular. I’m really wanting to move it up in the pile.

J.Kaye, I do think Going Down South is going to be a fun book to do as a group.

Naida, I just visited you. Glad you joined in-it’s the first week for us both.

Serena, I visited you already. If you haven’t come across Going Down South by the time we finish with it in our noontime chat, I’ll send you mine.

Joanne, I was peeking through Dewey too. I remember that you had wanted to read it during the read-a-thon. I can’t believe you read as much as you did.
