Teaser Tuesdays (Oct. 21)

October 21, 2008 by Darlene

TEASER TUESDAYS asks you to:

  • Grab your current read.
  • Let the book fall open to a random page.
  • Share with us two (2) “teaser” sentences from that page, somewhere between lines 7 and 12.
  • You also need to share the title of the book that you’re getting your “teaser” from … that way people can have some great book recommendations if they like the teaser you’ve given!
  • Please avoid spoilers!

My 2 Teaser sentences are…

“Harriet looks up and sees four land mines drifting down under parachutes. They are lit from beneath by the fires, the soft, filmy hoods of light making the bombs seem like a school of jellyfish, not descending, but swimming up out of the darkness.” —from Coventry by Helen Humphreys, page 64

LOVE it. I got an English Patient feel from the atmosphere so now I want to know more about the book.

    Naida 🙂

Avis, it is good. Hard subject matter but great book.

Wanda, that’s how I felt about it too.

Karen, it is kind of like that. I read The Lost Garden by her and liked it. I enjoy her writing style.

I’ve never heard of this book Dar. I’m going to look it up on Amazon. Is it a review copy or just for fun?

Shana, this is a review copy but it is one I wanted to review as I like the author. I think you might like her style of writing. I can send you Coventry when I’m done if you’d like. It’s a really small book-only a couple hundred pages.
