Well I sure have been lucky lately so I would like to pass out some big thank-you’s. These are in no particular order as my memory isn’t good enough to remember when I won them or received them-lol.
I was lucky enough a little while ago to get Somebody Else’s Daughter by Elizabeth Brundage from my good friend Shana over at Literarily. She really cheered me up with that kind gesture.
From another good friend Toni from A Circle of Books, I received Inside Out Girl by Tish Cohen and The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand. Why, you ask? No reason, just from the goodness of her heart.
Then I started to win some books from my book blogging friends… I won… Shoot the Moon by Billie Letts from The Things We Read, The Witch’s Trinity by Erika Mailman from Literate Housewife, Dead Witness by Joylene Nowell Butler from J. Kaye at J. Kaye’s Book Blog, Woman of a Thousand Secrets by Barbara Wood from Bonnie at Redlady’s Reading Room and recently I was able to pick a book from softdrink’s closet over at Fizzy Thoughts and I chose Thank You For All Things by Sandra Kring.
Marcia from The Printed Page had heard how much I wanted to read Sarah’s Key by Tatiana de Rosnay and was kind enough to send me her extra copy which I am very thankful for.
My good friend Janel from Janel’s Jumble spoiled me rotten and it came at the perfect time while my pop’s was in the hospital. It was the perfect pick-me-up. She sent me Tethered by Amy MacKinnon which I want to read really bad, a beading book, some beading magazines and a wonderful beaded bookmark plus a few patterns. Janel is really talented when it comes to beading and I’m going to give it a shot again over the winter. Make sure and check out her blog-she has all kinds of good things like recipes, beading tips, other good hints and bookish things thrown in the pile too. It’s great.
So, what I really want to say is that the generosity of bloggers overwhelms me. I’ve met so many great people that I call friends now and for that I’m very grateful. To have met them through one of my favorite things-books, is even better!
Aren’t book bloggers the best! Shana and Marcia have been very kind to me, too,
Wow you got some great books. I can’t wait to read this one: Inside Out Girl by Tish Cohe It’s been sitting in the TBR pile.
Dar, you totally deserve all these books and the generosity and good luck because you are wonderfully generous yourself!
We have so many of the same books waiting to be read. It should be fun to compare notes.

congratulations!!:) you’ve amassed quite a wealth here!:) can’t wait for your reviews of all these fabulous books!:) nothing like a free book to cheer a soul, right??:)
Kathy, it really does overwhelm me sometimes. Just a great group of people.
Serena, my tbr pile is so big that it’s now a few piles not including the book shelves. It’s just unbelievable. They must have a Books Anonymous meeting out there somewhere.
Shana, thank you π I know we have a lot of the same books-it’s going to be fun to see if we agree on them or not.
Ramya, it is amazing how any kindness is enough to cheer a soul but I have to admit books can really cheer me up. lol.
Wow, Dar! The reason you have been showered with the gift of books is because YOU are the kind soul. You’ve cheered me up many times and I feel very blessed. As they say – what goes around, comes around. π Enjoy your wealth!
I just started my book blog about 2 weeks ago(it is still under construction), but I can feel such a strong sense of community amongst everyone! I am so glad that I started doing this. I also just won my first book from a Blog contest from Booking Mamma…so I will also be reading Sarah’s Key.
I love Billie Letts…Shoot the Moon was a fun book that I think you will enjoy.
Dar, it’s nice to see you winning some books, especially since you’ve sent so many out to other people.
You deserve all your luck π
I’ve hit a dry patch and didn’t win anything at all in October. Then again, I didn’t enter many contests either so that could be why!
I bought “Shoot the Moon” as a Christmas gift for one of my sisters so I’ll be looking forward to your thoughts on that one (and the others too!) π
Wow! You have been lucky lately!
Dar, I’m glad the abundance of books and the gift of beading supplies came just when you needed a pick-me-up. Good to know that your father is doing well, and that you’ll be able to enjoy the books that have come your way.
I see I’m not the only one who has been sitting on a horseshoe! Book bloggers sure are generous. Here’s what I’ve won in the last month:
at least 5 books
two amazon gift cards
bag of halloween goodies
box of spooky books (10)
surprise box of books (don’t know now many or what they are)
build a bear gift certificate
box of R.I.P. goodies
Joy, you all are so sweet to me. Thank you. I’m glad I could cheer you up! That makes me happy.
Jo-Jo, you have a wonderful blog. I’ll add you onto my blog roll. The blogging community is great. Congrats on winning your first book!
Mary, aw thanks π
Lenore, thank you. I wasn’t winning any for a long time and then boom-this happened. I only enter the ones from the blogs I read so it’s not usually too many.
Wanda, I’m looking forward to Shoot the Moon. I’ve always really liked Billie Letts.
Marg π
Lots of good stuff! We do have the best blog community anywhere. And we share the wealth! π
Lezlie
Dawn, thank you. My piles are getting bigger and all the books sound so great that I want to be able to start them all at once. lol.
Callista, you have been lucky! You won one of those Spooktacular boxes-you lucky lady. I sure tried.
Lezlie, I agree. I think it’s fun to give books away and win them. Plus it’s a tiny way to control some portion of my bookshelves.
π I would like to say I m Jealous… but I did win 2 books lately.. π One from u too @@!
((touchwood))
may the good luck be with u all thru..
and hope you Pop is fine π
And you deserve every bit of all this luckiness! I almost bought Sarah’s Key the other day…but then I remembered all the unread books waiting for me at home. And for once, that memory worked!
Aww, Dar, you’re making me blush. I’m glad you enjoyed everything. If you’re nice to people, people will be nice to you. Or at least that’s the way it should be and it’s working that way for you now. Congrats on the great pile o’ books!
Wow, what great things you’ve gotten! Book bloggers are the best–but you’ve definitely gone out of your way to be a friend to so many, and I personally really appreciate having you around. Enjoy your gifts, Dar!
First time visitor here, I followed you on a tip/lead from Serena who I follow and am followed by. Great blog, Dar! I’d like to add you to my blogroll if that’s OK. Contact me off-loop at marvwilson2010@gmail.com.

You really are one lucky woman and why do I think it if of your own making. My friend came bringing me “The Rope Walk” by Carrie Brown today. I can hardly wait to get started. Ayn Rand books are ones I need to revisit soon. I think of them often in reference to current events and the place our country finds itself in.
I will come back to this blog for some good ideas when I need a book fix!
Thank you for stopping by. I love to have readers.

Marvin, I sent you off an email. Welcome to my blog.
b, thanks for popping by. Please pop in again. I’m going to go and visit your blog soon.
Man, you are lucky! Congratulations on winning all of those! Book bloggers (including yourself!) are really some of the most generous people I’ve ever encountered.
Swapna, I agree. It’s a wonderful world for sure.
Dar.. Look at all the goodies! I agree… Book Bloggers are wonderful! And YOU deserve all the books. I am sorry mine were so late in coming. Thank you for mentioning my humble book abode. You blog is really a “happpening” place!
Toni, thanks. You know with all the books I’ve got to read, waiting isn’t a bad thing. lol.
Congrats, Dar, on your good luck! I agree, book bloggers are great. I recently had my own run of good luck with winning contests and receiving books from various folks. Glad to hear your dad is doing OK too. Enjoy your books!
I will add again too that it is not luck that got you such treasures but your kindness:)
Avis, thanks so much π
Tracy, thank you…:)
Congrats, Dar! You deserve some good luck! I will be anxious to hear your thoughts on the books – especially Dead Witness! Such a great book.
Thanks April! I hope I’ll be able to get back to my reading now that things are settling down a bit.
