Teaser Tuesdays (Nov. 18)

November 18, 2008 by Darlene

TEASER TUESDAYS asks you to:
  • Grab your current read.
  • Let the book fall open to a random page.
  • Share with us two (2) “teaser” sentences from that page, somewhere between lines 7 and 12.
  • You also need to share the title of the book that you’re getting your “teaser” from … that way people can have some great book recommendations if they like the teaser you’ve given!
  • Please avoid spoilers!

Here are my 2 teaser sentences…

  • ‘For the first time in days, I didn’t feel afraid anymore. Here, there were no dead babies, tomato girls, or sick mothers. In the river, I could float myself to sleep’. —pg. 155, Tomato Girl by Jayne Pupek

How about you, do you have any teaser sentences from what you’re currently reading? Come and join in the fun.

Wendi, I am really enjoying it.

Jill 🙂 I do try to pick out good ones-I cheat a little. lol.

Karen, I hope you can get a copy and read it-it’s quite good.

guatami 🙂 So could I when I read that.

    Jo-Jo 🙂

ladytink-she is a girl in the book who sells tomatoes. At least I think that’s the only meaning so far.

Joanne, thanks:) I hope you get to read it soon.

Wanda, it’s amazing how sometimes only a few sentences can leave you wanting to read a whole book. I’m so glad Nefertiti arrived!

Nise, thanks so much for popping in. It’s a good book so far.

Anna, it is a very good book. I should be finished it today. I’m coming to the end of all the books I had on the go. lol.

April, lol. It’s kind of creepy though, don’t you think?

Trish, it’s good. Hard to imagine in some spots the kind of life people live but it’s one of those books that grabs you from the beginning.

Avis, that’s what I thought too, that the teaser was creepy. I finally got to that section of the book and it was creepy in a sense.

Shana, it’s so good to see you back in comment land. The book is good. I’m hoping to finish it up today and review sometime next week.
