Merry Christmas from Janet Evanovich

December 12, 2008 by Darlene

Well as most know I am a huge Janet Evanovich fan and have read all of books, my favorite being the Stephanie Plum Novels but there is also the Plum Between the Numbers Books that come out at various times and those are just as good.

The latest is Plum Spooky which is due to release January 6, 2009 and it’s the first full length one, the rest have been shorter novels. I am so excited as I read these between books also.

So, here’s a blurb about the book…

The First Full Length Stephanie Plum Between-the-Numbers Novel from #1 Bestselling Author Janet Evanovich.

Turn on all the lights and check under your bed. Things are about to get spooky in Trenton, New Jersey. According to legend, the Jersey Devil prowls the Pine Barrens and soars above the treetops in the dark of night. As eerie as this might seem, there are things in the Barrens that are even more frightening and dangerous. And there are monkeys. Lots of monkeys.

Wulf Grimoire is a world wanderer and an opportunist who can kill without remorse and disappear like smoke. He’s chosen Martin Munch, boy genius, as his new business partner, and he’s chosen the Barrens as his new playground.

Munch received his doctorate degree in quantum physics when he was twenty-two. He’s now twenty-four, and while his brain is large, his body hasn’t made it out of the boys’ department at Macy’s. Anyone who says good things come in small packages hasn’t met Munch. Wulf Grimoire is looking for world domination. Martin Munch would be happy if he could just get a woman naked and tied to a tree.

Bounty hunter Stephanie Plum has Munch on her most-wanted list for failure to appear in court. Plum is the all-American girl stuck in an uncomfortable job, succeeding on luck and tenacity. Usually she gets her man. This time she gets a monkey. She also gets a big guy named Diesel.

Diesel pops in and out of Plum’s life like birthday cake – delicious to look at and taste, not especially healthy as a steady diet, gone by the end of the week if not sooner. He’s an über bounty hunter with special skills when it comes to tracking men and pleasing women. He’s after Grimoire, and now he’s also after Munch. And if truth were told, he wouldn’t mind setting Stephanie Plum in his crosshairs.

Diesel and Plum hunt down Munch and Grimoire, following them into the Barrens, surviving cranberry bogs, the Jersey Devil, a hair-raising experience, sand in their underwear, and, of course . . . monkeys.

While waiting for the novel to be released, Janet has left us with this great video to enjoy for Christmas that was inspired by Stephanie’s new adventures in Plum Spooky.

I’m only current through #7, I think. I haven’t even met Diesel yet!!! So this one will probably be in pb by the time I get to it. Hope you like it. I’m curious about the title. Sounds like a book for the Fall, not winter. I’ll read your post and then review later. I’m a big fan, too!

I received an email about this one, but I haven’t decided yet whether or not to get it. I’ve been slowly collecting the series (they’re all hardbacks, so now I have 6-13 and probably won’t find 1-5. So silly!!). Guess I can’t really jump into the middle of the Plum books without even knowing who Stephanie Plum is! 😛

    Hope you enjoy the book!

Lezlie, I haven’t read too many of the romance novels of hers but the ones I did read I liked.

Mary, Diesel is hilarious. He’s one of my favorite characters.

Beth, you’ve got a few to go to catch up hey. lol. I had started pretty close to when the series started so I didn’t have too far to catch up. Now it’s just one a year so that’s ok, with these little ones in between.

Ti, these books are really good when you need to get away from everything and have a laugh. That’s what I like about them.

Serena, that blasted pile of books again. lol.

Hi Bandit, I hear you lost some more baby teeth. Yay.

Ramya, glad you’re back around writing posts and commenting. It’s not the same without you.

J.Kaye, I haven’t checked if they added anyone to the video thing or not. I guess I should do that.

Icedream, you should pick one up and give it a try. They are really easy reads and funny too.

Toni, they’re great. I think Jenn has read a couple of them now too.

Trish, the older ones are really hard to find in hard cover now. I know my friend was looking for a few of them and had a hard time.

Linda, you’re almost caught up. Some didn’t like 14 so much but I did.

Veens, I think you’d like this series especially with your sense of humour.

Naida, it does sound good but then I like most anything to do with this series.

Melody, give it a try if you’re looking for something light and funny.
