TEASER TUESDAYS asks you to:
- Grab your current read.
- Let the book fall open to a random page.
- Share with us two (2) “teaser” sentences from that page, somewhere between lines 7 and 12.
- You also need to share the title of the book that you’re getting your “teaser” from … that way people can have some great book recommendations if they like the teaser you’ve given!
- Please avoid spoilers!
My teasers…
- ‘Do you not think that your own mother wept bitter tears at the loss? Tear at her pretty, dark hair and fall to the ground in an agony of mourning for her stolen child?’ —pg. 85, Wondrous Strange by Lesley Livingston
How about you-have you got a good teaser from your current read to share?
Let’s see, here’s my teaser from the book I’m currently reading:
“This plebeian fluid made her feel both sleepy and contented. The sleepiness passed, but the contentment sharpened into bliss, for it seemed that they had barely begun their rounds of diversion.”

~Paulina of Once Upon A Book
Great teaser Dar! Thanks for sharing.
Here’s my Teaser!
🙂 Wendi
“They’d first worked together when, no long after Olge’s move to New York, Wilkin had illustrated a rather pedestrian book, Work and Play the Healthy Way, written by Olge and published under the Guild imprint. Hearing from Olge again after all those years had taken Wilkin by surprise”
From page 84 of Golden Legacy– How Golden Books Won Children’s Hearts, Changed Publishing Forever, and Became An American Icon.
I will be reviewing this book on my blog tomorrow.
Sounds heartbreaking. Good Teaser – thanks for sharing!

page92
Stop! She tried again to reach out to the bats, searching for a single mind with which she could communicate. Sam worried that even if she could contact a single mind, one bat probably couldn’t influence the rest.
That’s one for you 🙂

Sounds like a good one… definitely a teaser for good writing.
Being a mother of three, it almost hurts to read your teaser, Dar.
What era does this book take place in?
I’m in between books right now and it is a strangely good feeling. I don’t think I’ll even pick up another one until Saturday! How’s that for rebellious! 🙂 Honestly, I’m just worn out to pieces.
Wondrous Strange is certainly an intriguing title!!
I’ve never heard of Wondrous Strange. It sounds interesting, and now I’m anxiously awaiting your review!

Diary of an Eccentric
Paulina, that sounds so good. That book is on my shelf and I hope to read it one day soon.
Wendi, hi 🙂
Alan, good teaser. Thanks for stopping by. I’ll pop over and visit your blog. I hope you come by again.
Bumbles, thanks for popping in, come again 🙂
Veens, that sounds very interesting. I’ll be watching for your review of this one for sure.
Bandit Jack, Buddy thinks you must be related too. Buddy is 6 and a half now. I remember when he lost his baby teeth-as a matter of a fact I saved those I could find-lol.
Naida, it is dramatic, isn’t it.
Toni, yup I cheat a bit and try to pick out something eye catching and then I’m excited to get to that point in the book to see how it fits in.
Wanda, this is actually a young adult book and it’s a book that is about faeries and such. While kids are stolen, it’s not so much in a bad way if that makes sense. I mean it’s still bad that somebody’s child is taken but this is the faery world.
Trish, you’re too funny. I just can’t be without a book started. It feels wrong to me-lol. I have been trying to get some knitting in though so I’m picking at my books in bits and pieces-I have three on the go right now.
Anna, this is being released in January 2009 so that’s probably why. It sure is interesting so far.
I’ve never heard of this book. But I like the teaser, though the thought of a stolen child is very, very sad!!!

Literarily
Shana, I just finished this book. I’m hoping to get the review up tonight then I can explain the missing child thing a bit better. It was a really good book.
