Library Loot (Jan. 21)

January 21, 2009 by Darlene

Library Loot is a weekly co-hosted event by Eva and Alessandra that asks us what books we’ve checked out of the library this week. I just got back a while ago from the library and here is my loot for the week…

  • The Sacrifice by Kathleen Benner Duble (YA)
  • Jane Austen by Carol Shields
  • Candy Apple Dead by Sammi Carter
  • The House at Sugar Beach by Helene Cooper

How about you, did you pick up anything from the library this week. Join in the fun.

Sam, thanks. I got carried away browsing while I was there. Thankfully I realized before I came home with even more that there would be no way of getting them completed. lol.

Ti, The Bookseller of Kabul is a really good book. I read it before my blogging days and really enjoyed it.

I am always checking out books from the library!
This past week – “Blackberry Cove Herbal”,
“Decorating small spaces”, and a bunch of Childrens books for the kids I watch.

I haven’t gone to the library yet. I really want to read Candy Apple Dead by Sammi Carter but my library doesn’t carry any of the books and I keep forgetting to ILL it 🙁

I didn’t realize Shields had written a book called Jane Austen. I’ve only read her Stone Diaries and really didn’t like it. 🙁 I think I’m the only one in the entire world, though…

    Library Loot? Now there’s a meme I haven’t seen before…

I have The House at Sugar Beach on my tbr list but it’ll likely be later rather than sooner before I get to it. I’ll keep an eye out for your thoughts on this one.

Thanks everyone for stopping by and commenting on my Library Loot. It’s fun to find out what others are bringing home from the library and plus I just love comments. lol.

Wendy, Shana, I’m anxious to read The House at Sugar Beach. It’s coming right up after I finish with Coraline tonight.

Trish, I read a bit of Shield’s Austen book last night and I don’t really like how she’s written it so I think I’ll be looking for a different biography on her.

Wendy, I bet the library really comes in handy with running a daycare. You can always have a new variety around.

Serena, I am always taking out audiobooks from the library because they’re way too expensive to buy.

April, yes, see that’s what your new daily posts are doing-bringing me yet more books. lol. I can’t wait to start this one though. Sugar Beach is first, then Candy Apple Dead.
