Book Club Chat with Kate Jacobs

February 5, 2009 by Darlene

On Tuesday night, my bookclub The Page Turners were lucky enough to be visited by author Kate Jacobs. Kate is the author of The Friday Night Knitting Club, Knit Two and Comfort Food—all of which I enjoyed a great deal.

Our book club has been together for almost 6 years now—online although a lot have met in person. This was our first author visit so of course we were really excited and we all loved The Friday Night Knitting Club and now the sequel Knit Two. Kate was so real and friendly—she made all of us feel at ease with her. It was just like she was a regular part of our very chatty group. It was nice to be able to ask questions first hand as to why things were written a certain way and to discuss how much her books remind us of our very own special circle of friends.

So, thank you Kate. You really made our evening and it was a lot of fun! You can check out Kate’s website here.

I’m glad you gals had such a good time and really does add a new element to the author’s work. Just last month our group talked with Megan Crane and we had a blast!

Dar, that’s great! So how does your online book club meet? Where was Kate Jacobs? Am I just confused? That wouldn’t be unusual, lol.

WoW Dar, that sounds great. I still haven’t had the opportunity to read Friday Night Knitting Club – but it’s up there in my list. I want to get to it within the next 2 weeks.

I haven’t read either of her books, but I’ve heard nothing but good things about Kate Jacobs’ writing!

How fun that you were able to chat with the author online; sounds like she was a very welcome addition to the discussion.
