Welcome to My Snowy World & Buddy

February 6, 2009 by Darlene

Oh my goodness!!! Take a looky at this lovely little snowstorm we are having today…It’s just one big snowy haze right now. lol.

The snow is piling up really quickly. Seem easy enough to understand that my kind of spring like weather is now over and we’re back to normal. lol. It’s a bit of a skating rink out there right now. I had Buddy out and of course he’s running around like a crazy dog in the snow and up and down the steps. Well on the last puppy olympics that he was busy performing in, he slid right off the bottom step and a little ways across the sidewalk. You had to be there—it was hilarious. Anyhow, here’s a pic of Buddy to share too-he’s not quite as covered with snow as he was a minute ago because the little bugger shook it off. He was in a hurry because he knows (as all dogs do) that when he poses for a picture a treat isn’t far behind.

So, needless to say I am staying in—no way I’m venturing out on those slikkery roads today. I’m going to do some work and then curl up with one of the many good books I have started. Have a great weekend everyone!

Neener. It’s sunny here and headed up to the high forties for the next few days — although this being West of Mars, who knows how long the sun will stay.

Oddly, I’m sad about the melt and the loss of our snow. I’m not ready for the snow to be over yet! (but I am ready for an end to snow days and school delays!)

Buddy is adorable – I want to give him a great big hug. We were visiting my hubby’s parents earlier this week and they had snow. Milou didn’t know what to do in it. She stood there like a statue. We had to put her under their deck so she could take care of her business.

The sun’s shining here too : ) We’re expecting freezing rain tonight and tomorrow, but then it’ll probably be back to the deep freeze. The last 2 mornings we’ve gotten up to subzero wind chills, so our mini heat wave (high of 45 tomorrow) will be nice – especially for those early morning doggy potty trips!

We even have “weather” here in So. California! Huge rainstorm with thunder and lightening right now. I am safe at work but out here, when everything is so dry it really causes problems when it pours. The roads were washed out this morning on my way in and I suspect they will be much worse on my way home. Sigh.

Oooh, that looks so nice. It’s been pretty darn cold here in Florida. It’s been in the 40’s and even as low as the high 30’s. That’s a rarity but SOOO cold. I’m definitely not used to this – not to mention I barely own any winter clothes. ugh

You do remember how I love a good snowstorm right? So I am totally envious of you right now! lol
But it does look like we may have a storm coming through on Monday, which may be the same storm you have right now…I will keep my fingers crossed!
We have a heat wave at 40 degrees here in Wisconsin today.

Well, the part of FL I am in was 22 degrees this morning. 22!!!!! I moved here from New England for this. I could raise penguins here, for crying out loud ! Buddy needs a sweater and Paddington boots, not that he needs anything to make him cuter because he is cute as a button.

Look at that little man. Wow… cutie patootie. All that snow looks so homey from down here. It is mid 50’s with sun showers and rain today here in Northern California. Stay Warm Dar.

We have rain, too (I’m north of Ti). It’s so exciting, because it’s been a hot, dry winter. We’re hoping it continues to pour all weekend!

I cannot tell you how enticing that snow looks to me at the moment! I have just posted a weather update on my blog as well, and I think you will see why if you check it out!

A perfect reading day! Lucky you! I always feel slightly guilty staying insdie and reading on sunny days. Not that that stops me, of course!

    Buddy looks like a keeper!

How pretty! Your picture could be a postcard! It makes me want to sit in front of a fire with a book, coffee, and probably some oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. It is 70 degrees here, and while some people are very happy about that, I wish winter would last a little longer here.

What a tranquil picture; Buddy is adorable. I have a Buddy the black cat, who thinks I am his human mom. We have had more snow this year, but tomorrow will be 50 degrees so it will help to melt a lot.

What a sweetie – I bet he had a lot of fun in the snow, despite the slipping and sliding!

I’m more than ready for spring to appear. It’s been cold and snowy here this week, too ๐Ÿ™

I am so jealous – I absolutely LOVE snow (when I can stay inside and snuggle up next to the fire). We are experiencing incredibly warm temperatures here this weekend – near 70 degrees!! So my dear little puppies are tracking in mud all over the house ๐Ÿ™‚

When it comes to snow, we are usually sadly cheated here in Denmark. We got 5 mm Friday, and I had to rush out and take a few photos before it melted ๐Ÿ˜€
Your dog is so cute in the snow, but you probably know that already.

I’m starting to get so sick of snow and ice. This weekend is beautiful, though, and warm – 44 degrees – a heatwave!

I hope you don’t mind, but I tagged you for a photo meme.

    Enjoy the weekend.

How pretty! I haven’t been in snow since 1985 when I last visited my hometown of Columbus, Ohio! As a child I loved living where it snowed. Buddy is sooo cute!

LOL–well this should tell you how far behind I actually am! I’ve marked a lot of blogs marked as read to get back to zero, but I couldn’t help commenting on how adorable Buddy is. I just want to squeeze him! (not too hard, of course).

  41. Dar says

    February 19, 2009 at 4:22 pm

Kathy, it’s adorable when dogs don’t know what to do in the snow. I bet it was funny watching Milou. It would have been cold on the pawsies too.

Nely, I was smiling at your comment of not having any winter type clothes-of course you wouldn’t in Florida. Here though you have two sets-summer and winter. lol.

Kaye, Buddy does have a coat and booties but that’s only for when it’s really cold. Otherwise he’s ok out there. When we get the 30 below zero he gets dressed up.

Jo-Jo and Madeleine, I sure wish I could send the snow your way. We’re supposed to get snowed on all next week. I’m not looking forward to it.

Marg, how are you doing out there now?

Bandit, I bet you’d like the snow as much as Buddy does.
