Sundays, Spring? & Buddy, More Snow…

March 22, 2009 by Darlene

Good morning fellow bloggers. I thought I’d catch up a bit on the past week and share with you the fact that we are having a spring storm. Yup, no sign of spring here at all! In fact we are due to get, between today and tomorrow, a whopping 8 inches or more of snow. So, to battle the doldrums I am no doubt feeling from this I decided to post a picture of Buddy from a few years back enjoying his time in shade during a hot summer day. This was back before our backyard was fenced in so he had to be on a leash. He was so happy when the fence came up and he was let free to roam the whole yard.

On the reading front, March has been a good month so far. I guess partly in turn because I can’t get out and clean flower beds or gardens and such. I finished Everyone is Beautiful by Katherine Center and Willing Spirts by Phyllis Schieber last week for blog tours and reviews will be up this week. I really enjoyed both books. The other books I have on the go right now are…

  • Deep Dish by Mary Kay Andres which I’m reading for the chat on Wednesday, March 25 with Book Club Girl and totally enjoying.
  • Still Life by Joy Fielding which I’ve only just started but it’s already grabbed me into the story. I’m such a fan of hers.
  • Lady Anne and the Howl in the Dark by Donna Lea Simpson which I may start today if I can manage to put down Deep Dish for any length of time. lol.

This week on Friday I will be having my eye fixed up~hopefully it won’t affect my reading or blogging. Between the bad flu we’ve had in our house and just not feeling well, my eye has kept being put on the back burner and it needs to be taken care of. Other than that I hope to get lots of reading done to wrap up the end of the month in between office work, household duties and chasing the dog around.

For today, however, I’m staying IN! out of the blowing snow. I’m going to curl up with my book and my dog. Someone please tell me that spring is indeed planning to come to Alberta at some point this year! LOL (really not funny but what else is a person to do at this point). Have a great day and week everyone!

When I was reading about snow and looked at the picture, all I could think was that your grass is awfully green and then I saw the picture was taken during the summer. I hope things go well with your eye.

I’m glad you are having a good reading month despite the flu and eye problems. Having a day IN to read sounds like what I’ve been trying to do today. It’s 11:30am and I haven’t picked up my book yet, but there’s still plenty of time. However, there have been so many distractions already (outside of the computer) that I hope I can get a couple hours of reading in today. I hope you enjoy your reading time, Dar. 🙂

I was so excited for you when I saw buddy in the grass…until I read your post about more snow. 🙁 Hope it warms up for you soon. And I hope that your eye gets better soon–I can’t believe that you are still having problems! Enjoy the rest of your weekend, Dar!

No spring weather in Denmark today either. It is cold, misty and with some rain. Yet I have been inspired by all the nice spring photos I have seen on people´s blogs today so now I am going to post some of my own.

Well if it gives you hope, spring is already down here. We’ve actually got the air conditioning on! Enjoy your reading time and get all better before the allergy season gets to you!

Spring will be here before you know it. This storm of yours must be the last big one before things start to get a bit warmer.

I hope the eye stuff goes well. Give us an update on it when you can.

Buddy is SO cute!! 🙂 And thanks for your posts! I found my layout at http://www.simplyfabulousbloggertemplates.com/. It’s a little more complicated than the cutest blog on the block but I managed to make it work (you have to actually paste over the html template, so you have to be careful not to lose your widgets).

It snowed all morning here too! Luckily, it stopped around noon and the snow that had covered the ground is now gone. I am so ready for spring like weather!

    Good luck with your eye!
Love the pic of the puppy!

Cute picture of Buddy! It sounds like you are in need of some sunshine and spring!! Hoping that the snow melts quickly!! Good luck with your eye appt and hoping that it goes smoothly. I just finished Deep Dish and it was just okay for me. It was more chick lit style than I thought it would be. I enjoyed the foody parts!!

I’m so sorry to hear about the snow!! We finally got rid of that white stuff and I’m looking forward to some 50 degree weather here soon!! I haven’t heard of the 3 book you listed so I’m anxiously waiting for your reviews!!

I’m so sorry about the snow, your eyes, and the flu. March was off to a slshy start here, which is unusual. The last few days have been sunny, warmer, and dryer. I know the dry won’t last, it’s Vancouver but hopefully, the warm will. I’m trying to send some nicer weather your way!

BTW, I ment to ask what part of Alberta you are in. My husband and I will be in both Edmonton and Calgary for the folk music festivals.

As soon as spring hit here, the storm clouds moved in. At least I can say it doesn’t snow where I live and so that wasn’t something I have to look forward to this spring.

Buddy is adorable. My Riley loves being on the leash if it means walks, but other than that–no way; he’s glad for a fenced in backyard to run in too.

I hope everything goes well with your eye. Have a great week!

I’m doing the same books for tours this week, too. 🙂 I hope you can get your eye fixed soon. Let us know how that goes!

And I hope everything goes well with your eye. Buddy is adorable, as usual! 🙂

The minute I saw Buddy and green grass I was a little surprised! Atlanta’s much warmer than Canada and our grass here is still brown.. and then I read the post about the snow storm and stuff.. poor you! guess you must be waiting for spring/summer now! And yeah.. Buddy’s soo soo adorable! A big hug from me to buddy!:)

And good luck with your eye.

You had us all fooled with that photo 🙂

I was complaining about flurries on Sunday; I would be very unhappy with 8 more inches of snow. Nice that you were able to stay in and have a quiet day.

Is your eye “fix” from when you scratched the cornea a while ago? Hope is goes well!

Thanks everyone for your well wishes on my eye. I can’t wait to get it over with. I figured I might fool some people with my nice green grass. It was wishful thinking on my part. Still lots of snow here.

Amy, Lady Anne is pretty good so far…

Nymeth, I don’t think Buddy ever gets tired of the snow. He loves it. He still runs outside and jumps in the deepest snow he can fun.
