GIVEAWAY: 3 Copies of The Good Mayor by Andrew Nicoll~ Canadian Entrants Only

April 22, 2009 by Darlene

Hi there fellow Canadians. Random House Canada has a great debut novel they’d like to share with 3 lucky winners.

The novel is The Good Mayor by Andrew Nicoll which will release on May 12, 2009 by Random House Canada. I haven’t had the opportunity to read it yet but I’ve heard it compared somewhat to The Time Traveller’s Wife which I loved so I’m looking forward to delving into it myself.

Here’s a little bit about the book from Random House Canada…

  • This magical debut novel is a love story. It is also a story of loss, magic, friendship, wonderful food, a brass band, an Italian witch, a large lawyer, an occasional dog and a car chase at a walking pace. Set in the little town of Dot in a forgotten part of the Baltic, it tells the life of Tibo Krovic, the good and honest mayor of Dot, and his love for his secretary, the beautiful, lonely — and married — Mrs. Agathe Stopak. In the quiet, respectable town there is nothing that Tibo can do about his love for Mrs. Stopak. Then one day, when she accidentally drops her lunch into a fountain, everything changes — and their lives will never be the same. Read The Good Mayor and fall in love again.

***Please note that this giveaway is only open to Canadian residents (no PO boxes).*** I humbly apologize to my US and international readers. I’ll have something good for you all soon. Rules are…

  • Leave me a comment for one entry along with an email address with which to contact you.
  • Blog about this giveaway or tweet it for another entry.

I will draw for the winners on Friday, May 8, 2009. Remember Canadian entrants only this time. Thanks and Good Luck!

Make sure to check out all my other giveaways while you’re browsing Peeking Between the Pages. They are posted along the sidebars.

    Hi there!
Please enter my name in. My email is jmutford [at] hotmail [dot] com.

Just curious about the “no P.O. Boxes” thing. As someone who’s lived in some pretty small towns in the North, where we didn’t have street names and mail was only delivered to the local post office, P.O. Boxes were our only option. It’s not the case for me now, but just wondering why that stipulation was added.
