Buddy Ruling the Roost…

June 6, 2009 by Darlene

I just had to share some pictures of Buddy today. I was playing with him last night and he’s just like a kid, I put his toy up on the chair beside him and he slowly nudges it down until finally he’s watching it falling. Then he looks at me and you can see the wheels turning in his head—is she or isn’t she going to pick it up for me again? Oh yeh, sucker, she picked it up again! Yahooooo and let’s play again.

He’s done this since a puppy either with his bones or his favorite toy. This toy is his very first one and still his very favorite one despite how many times I’ve had to mend it. I tried buying a new one that looked exactly the same as the old one. No go-he wouldn’t play with it. So, slowly I ripped the new one and sewed the material on the old one piece by piece and eventually that was acceptable. Sheesh! The things we do for our furkids. lol.

And last but not least here’s a pic of our apple tree in bloom. I got this the other day thankfully before it started blowing and raining because now they are pretty much fallen off. Isn’t it pretty?

So, what’s everyone doing today? I’m relaxing. It’s cold here again so I’m staying in and getting caught up on some blog housekeeping and reading. I am behind! I got sidetracked yesterday and barely did any reading at all. Tomorrow, unfortunately for Buddy, it may just be grooming day!

Have a great day everyone! Thanks for stopping by and checking out my little angel!

Wonderful pictures! Thank you for sharing.

I have had a nice day in our cottage; finishing a few exam questions, translated a writing exercise for my blog, visited lots of blogs and relaxed with my family.

That is one spoiled doggy! As it should be, I might add. We leave for Poland on the 16th, and I'm trying to get 2 1/2 week's worth of posts done and scheduled for when I'm gone! I will have no Internet access, and it is freaking me out a little. I have an ARC I'm trying to finish, in between play dates and kids in my hair!

The pictures of the "king of the castle" are adorable. Your apple tree is just gorgeous. It's actually almost chilly here today. Rain, rain and more rain most of the day. That's ok, soon it will be 95 every day. Have a great week.

Buddy looks so cheeky in the pictures. He must be such a lovely little character.
My reading has been slow this week too. Our weather has also turned cold again, I was wearing shorts on Monday and now I am back in my jumpers!

Dar, he's so cute! Our minature poodle is named Buddy as well and he keeps us amused for hours and hours every weekend. Through the week he is my constant companion but I won't play with him through the day because if I did I would get nothing done, ever! He loves to play fetch, about 1000 times a day, it's exhausting.

It wasn't very warm here either but I had to grocery shop and do stuff like that. Reading a little on and off…we'll have to see what tomorrow holds!! Enjoy your Sunday Dar!

Buddy is one cool cat. Um dog. LOL.
    That tree is beautiful.

It's been thundering here! Which is totally crazy for Southern Calif. However, I wish it would rain because lightning strikes and fire season do not mix.

I've been hanging around the house today. I cleaned out the garage and finished Foreign Tongue. Will write up the review in a bit.

Haha what a cutie! Suki had that same toy when he was a pup but it fell apart and we haven't been able to find another. That was a great idea you had for secretly combining the new one 🙂

Love the picture of your apple tree, they are so beautiful. We usually attend the Apple Blossom Weekend in Annapolis Valley but the weather wasn't very nice this year. Looking forward to some good apple-picking later in the summer though 🙂

I so love reading about Buddy and seeing photos =) I love the fact that he refused an identical brand new toy. Totally made me giggle. At least you got to fix it with the fabric from the new one lol. I still can't believe you did that. =)

I'm at work today *sigh* I have 1000+ feeds to get through on Google and I was hoping to get through a lot of them today but I'm hardly making a dent. I can't do it at home because my 20 month year old neice is a handful. I'm not having much luck getting a lot of reading done either. Oh well, I'll find a way. =)

Hope you're having a productive weekend!

Love the pictures! Your dog is adorable. 🙂

My weekend has been a combination of relaxing (yesterday) and productive (today). Yesterday I stretched out on the couch to rest my sore back. And today I spent the morning in my classroom, getting it all ready for the end of the school year!

The apple tree is very pretty!

I was lazy today, caught up on some reading and housework, but for the most part just lounged around in my pajamas since it was my only day off this week.

My dog, Lucky, has a ball that we got her her first day with us. It is so nasty looking, but if she can't find out she freaks out. It's her security ball, for the past 12 years. You never forget your first I guess.
Give him some pets for me.

Buddy is too cute. Isn't funny how our 'kids' allow us to live in their house?! lol My cat Jax is the prince around here and he knows it!

Your apple tree is beautiful – I love it!

I hope it warmed up since this post, Dar. I'd send you some warm weather from Florida if I could. It's been near 90 down here for weeks!

A reverse game of fetch. 🙂 Such a beautiful and well loved dog. I am enjoying a quiet day today. My car is in the shop for needed repairs. If they finish it early enough, hubby and I are thinking of taking in a movie. We'll see.

    Have a great week, Dar!

Thanks to everyone who stopped by to say hi to Buddy and I. I love that everyone loves seeing pics of him since I love showing him off. lol. It was really great hearing about what everyone was up to also-whether it's relaxing, housework or reading!

    Sandy, have a good vacation!

Alaine, I know what you mean. Buddy would love attention all day long but as you say then nothing gets done. Exhausting is the perfect word for how I feel sometimes when Buddy is done with me. lol.

Joanne, I think the pet store here still has them. Did he have one of the smaller or bigger ones? I'll take a look next time I'm in the pet store.

Lisa, I could still use some of your hot weather. lol.

Too funny about Buddy's toy! Lexi likes to tear the squeakers out of hers, but she'll still carry them all over the house without the stuffing–just the shell of what once was. 🙂

Your apple tree is GORGEOUS! Our Crepe Myrtles are starting to bloom and I love them–other than that we're starting to get too hot for many blooms. (95 degrees at 8:00 pm, if you can believe it!)
