Teaser Tuesdays (June 2)

June 2, 2009 by Darlene

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers! 😉

Here are my teasers for today…

  • ‘Stop looking for me. I’m not missing; I do not want to be found. I wish to remain vanishing. I don’t want to go home.—–Lilia.’ (pg 117, Last Night in Montreal by Emily St. John Mandel)

I’m just starting this novel but it promises to be a good read and I’ve already heard some good things about it. How about you, any good teasers this week…leave me your link or share in a comment.

I should talk a litt more about this chandelier. Why Not? I’ve got no family any. All I’ve got is chandeliers. (narrator p.98 – The White Tiger by Aravind Adiga –

Just beginning but am so enjoying the writing style. One of the those that I am saying what took me so long to read.

Wonderful teaser. This book is on my TBR list. I look forward to reading your review on it!

Also, about the Maximum Ride series, I just started the first book. I was disappointed to learn that 2 of my favorite characters from the books that inspired this series (When the Wind Blows and The Lake House) are not in this series. So I will put in my review whether or not this made a big difference to me!

Thank you all so much for stopping by my Teaser Tuesday this week. The book is pretty good so far. I should have my review up next week.

Beverly that's a good teaser. I've heard a lot about that book. I'll be watching for your review.

Wanda, it does have a great cover. I always like the contrast of red on a darker color.

Staci, wouldn't be all love to do that-run away for a while and not be found. lol.
