Yes, you are at Peeking Between the Pages. I got a wild hair to change things up again. I wanted brighter and more summery and I think that’s what I got. Anyhow, I like it so I hope you all do too. I’m thinking it may be a lot easier to read on the lighter background too.
So, what’s everyone up to this fine Sunday morning. Nothing much going on here yet. It’s cold and gloomy so another day inside.
On the book front, I have to get my post done for The Host which is stopping by on it’s Hachette Blog Tour at my place tomorrow. Be sure to check that out!
Other reading that I’m tackling this week is finishing off Last Night in Montreal today and starting Secrets to Happiness. I’m also reading The Good Mayor by Andrew Nicoll and liking it. I hope to read a bit more of it today. On the historical front I’m reading My Enemy the Queen along with some great ladies over at Royal Intrigue and it’s good.
So, that’s my day so far. How about all of you-what are you reading right now? Anything exciting on your agenda for the day? Stop in and say hi!
Like your new look, girl! I'm scared to death to touch my blog. When I do, things get screwed up. I am working feverishly to get 2 1/2 weeks worth of posts done for when I am in Poland. I'm tired! I also finished two books this weekend and need to do reviews. I'm still listening to "To Kill a Mockingbird" on audio, and it is phenomenal!
Wow – I did wonder for a second if I was in the right place. Looks very bright and cheerful – just like you 🙂
Looking lovely! Nice job.
Blog looks great! I just finished reading WORLD WITHOUT END (Ken Follett) – 1014 pages! It was really good, well worth the time.
But now I can read a book that I'm able to carry in one hand!
It's gorgeous!! I love the new look:) and thanks for the link!
Dar..on my MacBook, the post a comment link is sooo faint that I can barely see it. I actually could not figure out how to post a comment there for awhile.
Macs have a different color set when using Firefox. I found that out myself when I had the disappearing blog roll problem.
Much better 🙂 I also wanted to say that the lighter background is better on my eyes.
How beautiful, Dar! I love your new look. I think you did what you set out to do! I hope things are warming up in CA. It was too muggy outside here for my 4-yr-old…
Very pretty! I like the new look!
Lezlie
…where am i!?
Oh, here 😀
Lol, yes very pretty. I do love the color. It looks more cheerful now
I like the new background – it is very summery!
Love your blog's new look!!!!! Very easy on the eyes.
Very pretty color combinations!!
Love the new look! I'm hoping to play around with my layout once school gets out. I'm ready for a change too. 🙂
Looks very nice. 🙂
Love the new look. I need to make mine a bit more summery too. I just need a few hours extra in the day.
I'm reading Secrets to Happiness as well. I hope you are enjoying it. I haven't decided how I feel about it yet. I love the new blog theme!
I like the new look Dar. And for me it is easier to read. I'm just finishing up The Good Mayor as well. What a magical tale!
I like the new look! The color combos are nice. I'm starting to get the bug to have mine redone professionally so it can be totally custom, but we'll see. Perhaps I'll treat myself sometime this summer…
It is BEAUTIFUL Dar.. love the signature too. I am confessing to being jealous of this cute layout and color scheme. 😉
Looks Good!! I am afraid to change mine.. trying to build an audience still, and I don't want to turn people away if I change things. I am sure I will when the time is right though.
This may sound like a dumb question…but what is a blog tour? I have seen that in a couple places now. Thanks.
Great new look – easy on the eyes! I like the header with the quote … a nice sweet vintage look.
I going to get my review of LAST NIGHT IN MONTREAL up this week; I really liked it!
I'm reading Anita Shreve's RESISTANCE for my book group on Tuesday. I realize I've read it before, but didn't remember that (pre-Library Thing and pre-blog) … not much of an impression, apparently!
I really like your new look Dar!
I think it looks really nice Dar!! Sounds like a perfect day to read…it wasn't very warm here either. Didn't see the sun either…and it's June 7!!!
It's fun and it's light! It's always neat to change things up a bit!
I like the new look!
Hi Dar, your new blog look is so pretty!
I love pink. I've been wanting to change my blog look too, but i'm a bit scared to try.
Looking forward to the Host tour, I love that book.
I'll be reviewing The Secret Keeper tommorow at my blog.

I love the new look, Dar! Very pretty! 🙂
I love your new look Dar. I wasn't sure what was happening at first.
Good luck with The Host blog tour.
I'm reading Civil War history this beautiful day on my sunny deck. 🙂
Have a great week!
I like the new look!
I have given you the Literary Blogger's Award over at Bloody Bad Book Blog, I know you might have already gotten that one but I believe your blog encompasses the meaning of the award.
I like the new look, Dar! It is fun to change things up. I am scared to mess with mine much because I just know I will screw something up! I will have to work up the nerve, lol!
Love the new look – we are coming into winter over here in Australia so anything bright and light loks great to me right now!
Great look for the summer!
I love the new look of your blog! It is colorful and very attractive!
I like your pink! I changed my background using the same website but its fall-ish as well so I've been thinking the same as you – lighten it up for summer. But I'm too lazy right now.
Hey Dar, change is cool, especially like the new header!
Sunday, (like every other day lately) was busy here. I did manage to finish 'My Last Days as Roy Rogers' and I'm about half way through an old favourite of mine, 'The Watcher in the Woods'. I hope to get reviews up for both later this week (fingers crossed)!
I don't know how you juggle so many books at once but I'm glad you do — I need to catch up on your (and others) reviews!
Love the new look. I should be starting The Secrets to Happiness tomorrow.
You inspired me. I changed my again too.
I love the new look Dar! The colors and the quote are perfect!
I like the new look. I especially like your header. Very pretty.
I can't join the Plaidy read a long this month but have fun without me.
Hope you like the book.
Wow what an amazing new look!
Although I was a lil thrown off when I first opened the page. 😉
Thanks to all for stopping by and checking out the new design. Who knows how long it'll last but for now I love it! Pink and blue are my favorite colors so next will be a blue design.
Ti, that was a big reason I changed it. I was having trouble reading my own blog with the darker color. lol.
Melissa, I've been thinking of having mine done too but then that would cut out the option of changing up the colors when I feel like it.
Rebecca, it's really easy to change up with The Cutest Blog on the Block-it's just a matter of adding a gadget-you don't have to fiddle with the html at all.
Love your new look! You did a great job with it. I had to change mine for summer too. It was the first major change I made and it was easier than I thought. I won't be afraid to do it again now.
Buddy is such a cutie pie! We have that same dog toy but my dogs have destroyed it. We only have a few chunks of it left but they still play with it. They have a basket full of toy parts. None of them are still intact and I slowly pick through it and throw things away. You're right, we do go through a lot for our furkids!
I LOVE the new look. Very cheery, Dar! I do think the lighter background is much easier to read, but I do most of my blog reading in google reader and then pop over. I really like the header as well. Wow–this blog has come a long way, huh? 🙂
It looks great! I'm still trying to get out of my reading slump so nothing but non-fiction for me 🙁
I absolutely love the new blog look!

Diary of an Eccentric
Trish, thanks so much. You know I read blogs in my google reader too but with Firefox when I click on a post to comment it takes me the person's page so now I get to see everyone's backgrounds. I really like it. Yes, who would have thought that the blog would have come this far. I'm really excited about it though and very happy it has. Mostly I'm grateful to share my love of books with everyone and grateful for some really wonderful people that I've met.
