I’m really excited to say that Nicole O’Dell has offered up 1 copy each of her two books in the Scenarios series, Truth or Dare and All That Glitters and signed personally by her too. These are really good books and I think it would be awesome for those of you with a daughter or daughters at home to share these books with them. I’m obviously well past my teenage years but I really enjoyed these books. They definitely brought back memories of those teenage years and the struggles that went along with them and the hard decisions that sometimes had to be made. You can see my review of Truth or Dare here and my review of All That Glitters here.

I would love to be entered Dar. I
think the girls would enjoy these books. My teenage years were fraught with bullying. I used to stand up for myself, but that used to make the bullying worse.
I don't believe you only have one comment so far. But I am slow this month coming here. I would love enter these books and if I win them, they become Christmas gifts for my neices. But before that I would read them and review them for you.

No need to enter me, Dar. I, too, was a bullied and abused kid. I suspect many of us who read were; it's a great escape (that's why I started writing books, in fact. Escape.) So… maybe it wasn't such a horrible thing. Maybe you'd rather hear about the time I …
Oh, never mind.
I'm dropping in to say thanks for the e-mail. I've got this posted at Win a Book for you.
Hi Dar, I'd love to enter, they sound like great books.
I think my daughter would really go for these books, so please enter me in the giveaway, and thanks for offering them.

Please enter me, these sound wonderful.
I was tall, and even though that doesn't sound terrible, I took a lot of you-know-what through those early teens years.

I would love to read these, they sound great.
My teen years were pretty miserable because I was teased and bullied all the way through them — it was not a good time for me.

I was kind of shy in high school – definitely not a wall flower now

My height and weight were fodder for bullies. I'm sure it's harder for kids today with so much peer pressure to do things they ought not to.

Hey there, please enter me, I would love to win these for my daughter.
As I remember it now, the biggest hurdle for me in my teens was fighting with my mum, but maybe that just stands out because my daughter is getting to that awkward age…

I suffered with a lot of self esteem I think although I never showed it, only my closest friends know that I had self esteem issues. I still do in some ways.

These books do sound good. Count me in please!
The big thing I struggled to overcome during my teen years was self-esteem issues and being a doormat. I guess they went hand-in-hand and although I still have those tendencies, I am much more comfortable in my own skin and am better at avoiding situations that result in those issues.

As a teenager, I had to over come drugs. A lot to handle for a teenager, but I managed!

I would love to win. These books sound good -to read and to share.
I had some bullying but it wasn't too bad. It was mainly from cousins who tended to be a bit controlling and competitive but it never became scary. Then I went away to school, and I'd been toughened up a bit – so I could deal with upperclassmen bullies!

As a child, I was the girl that was always picked last in sports activities. I hated that! I will admit that I am clumsy!

Yay! I'd love to be entered.
When I was a teen, I had a really hard time creating an identity for myself that wasn't somehow linked to that of my friends. At the beginning of high school, I put a lot of stock into what others thought of me — and based how I thought I "should" behave around what they were doing. As I got older, I realized how silly that was — and became a much better, strong person because of it!
Thanks for the chance! 🙂

One of the things I struggled with as a teenager was extreme shyness and insecurity. I'm a lot better now but I still have my moments.
Thanks! :0)

I'd be very interested in these books! As a teen, I was the youngest in the class – I graduated hs at 15. I didn't really know what it meant to be a friend; I wish I had known that then…

I would love to be entered please. One issue I really struggled with was body image but I am slowly growing to embrace my boyish frame and lack of chest 🙂 At least I don't get backaches.

+2 I was painfully shy when I was a kid and teenager. I would not even put myself in a situation where I would have to speak in front of many people. I can recall a couple of class presentations that I failed because I totally refused to get up and speak.
Once I got out of school and became an adult things were slow to change. I just forced myself to get out there and made sure that I put an effort into speaking with more than just people I knew. Things have totally improved and I am happy I am not that shy little girl anymore

I struggled a lot with peer pressure, especially not being who I really was. I was a geek (in a time when being a geek was social suicide), loved learning and just didn't enjoy (or even understand) a lot of the things that a lot of my classmates were doing. It just seemed like a lot of silliness to me. So I ended up without a lot of friends a lot of time.
Now, I'm a volunteer youth leader with my church. I get to hang out with some amazing kids and help them struggle through all the junk that is junior high and high school. And, hopefully, help make their times a little easier, or at least help them to know that there's always someone there who does care about them and their lives.
