July 2009 Wrap Up

August 13, 2009 by Darlene

Well better late than never I always say. July was a good reading month for me. I read 13 books. I’m already not feeling as motivated for August so we’ll see. So here’s the list for July…

  1. You Make Me Feel Like Dancing by Allison Bottke (437 pgs)
  2. The Castaways by Elin Hilderbrand (355 pgs)
  3. The Local News by Miriam Gershow (357 pgs)
  4. A Worthy Legacy by Tomi Akinyanmi (101 pgs)
  5. Two Years, No Rain by Shawn Klomparens (370 pgs)
  6. Song of Renewal by Emily Sue Harvey (150 pgs)
  7. The Thing Around Your Neck by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie (218 pgs)
  8. The Sinful Life of Lucy Burns by Elizabeth Leiknes (167 pgs)
  9. Holly’s Inbox by Holly Denham (Bill Surie) (665 pgs)
  10. The Book of Unholy Mischief by Elle Newmark (367 pgs)
  11. Summer House by Nancy Thayer (351 pgs)
  12. Twenties Girl by Sophie Kinsella (435 pgs)
  13. Pope Joan by Donna Woolfolk Cross (422 pgs)

As you can see I’m at 71 books at the end of July so I’m well on my way for meeting my goal of 100 books for the year. Yahooooooo – I’ll actually complete a challenge. Well I guess I’d better not speak to soon right. lol.

It’s so hard to pick favorites because I really enjoyed so many of these but let’s see I’d say Holly’s Inbox and Pope Joan. I’ve got lots of good books planned for August, a few which I’ve already read and a bunch I’m really looking forward to.

How about you? Was July a good reading month for you?

Fantastic list, Dar. I really liked Pope Joan and I need to get hold of a copy of Holly's Inbox!! I read Pope Joan with an online book club a few years ago. Can't wait to see the movie!

You're a reading animal! I think next year, you will have to set your goal a little higher! You're going to hit your hundred with time to spare!

Super job! I'm only at 36 for the year, I don't think I'll hit my goal of 100, but I've already read more books than I usually do in a year!

I do want to read Holly's Inbox. That does sound like a good one.

Congrats to you Dar…I'm with Veens, lucky to read 4 in a month. And to think that you read this many when you were even slowed down for a while because of your eye problem! You are a reading maniac! lol

That's a lot of books for one month! And you right, better late than never. For me, it's actually better late than early since I completely forgot about posting my monthly summary and if it wasn't for your post I would not post it at all!
