Happy Sunday to you all out there! While relaxing with my morning coffee I’m going to get my Sunday post done. I have to apologize for not getting it done last weekend but I had one of my headaches and I really didn’t want this post to get lost in the shuffle of my week with reviews and interviews. Why, you ask? Because I got to meet Teddy from So Many Precious Books, So Little Time and it was awesome! I met Teddy on August 6 and I was going to write this post as soon as I got home but by the time I got home I had the migraine. Phooooey!
Anyhow, not only did I meet Teddy but I got to meet her really nice hubby as well. To anyone who reads Teddy’s blog they know she seems like a warm and friendly person and I’m here to tell you she is no different in person. She’s wonderful! Very friendly, very warm and we hit it off instantly. It’s quite funny how you can correspond with someone online and meet them and be comfortable and at ease. I felt I had known Teddy for ages and we found we had a lot in common. We met at a coffee shop downtown and enjoyed chatting for a few hours. I’ll never forget it and I am so happy I got to meet Teddy. I hope we’ll get to do it again. As a matter of a fact I’m pretty sure we will meet again. The following pic is Teddy and me posing for all of you.
Then what’s a Sunday without a picture of Buddy. I don’t have any new ones from this past week but the one I’ll share with you is one I took a couple of weeks ago and I’m sure I haven’t had it on the blog before. It’s another of those where he’s saying – Mommy, why can’t you just put that camera away! That flashing hurts my eyes! I tried getting some outside but the little bugger kept running away from the camera and hiding behind the flowers. Today is bath time for him so he’s going to be a cranky little guy. lol.
On the reading front I’m finishing up The White Queen by Philippa Gregory for my review tomorrow. It is really good and I’m enjoying it quite a lot. I’ve almost got Fear the Worst by Linwood Barclay finished as well. I started it on Friday evening and stayed up until 2 am reading. It was only knowing that my dog would have me up at 7:30 or so in the morning that got me to put it down. Before I knew it I was more than halfway done with it and I can’t wait to get back to it tonight.
Today will be spent on laundry and reading, probably outside as it looks like it’s going to be a nice day here. I have to apologize for not being great with commenting lately either. That last headache took the stuffing out of me pretty good and it’s only in the last few days that I’m feeling more my like my normal self.
So, how about you? What are you up to today? Going out to do anything exciting, just hanging out with the family or getting housework done like me? Whatever it is I hope you have a wonderful day!
I just met my first blogger as well, Lisa from Books.Lists.Life. We correspond a lot via email as well, so when we met I felt like I had already met her and we got along with great ease. I wish I lived closer to more bloggers–don't know of any in Dallas!
Buddy looks so cute in that picture, even if he was a little bugged about having his picture taken. 🙂 This afternoon I'm going on a date with my sister to see The Time Traveler's Wife. It's one of my favorite books, so hopefully I can just enjoy the movie without overanalyzing it.
Hope you have a great day, my dear!
How fun! Sounds like you two had a great time. Thanks for sharing the pics with us. It's almost eerie when you feel you know someone you have never met but just e mail them or trade comments. have a good Sunday and, uh, happy laundry (if that is possible)
Sorry to hear about your headaches, I have them as well. When they hit in, I'm of no use for a week.
Wish you a nice day with Buddy!
Lucky you to have met a fellow blogger. I've met a few of my on line bookgroup buddies and that was fun. Hope you are headache free today and get to enday your day.
How nice that you and Teddy got to meet! And a photo of Buddy who is just adorable. Hope the headache is totally gone. Those are the worst!
My Sunday wrap-up is on my blog. Have a great week!
It is always fun to see bloggers together — it reinforces the concept of the community we share.
Enjoy reading in the sunshine today. We have rain in our forecast all week 🙁
I look forward to reading your review of The White Queen. I have yet to read a Philippa Gregory book, but I would like to start.
Two of my favoritest bloggers in one photo!! Awesome!!
Lezlie
Thanks for posting the picture with Teddy! I've been lucky enough to meet a few bloggers in real life and every one of them has been exactly the way I expected them to be.
well, Bandit has a blog and I have met him! In fact, he and I..and afew others, will be having a wee BBQ this afternoon. sort of a combo birthday celebration for the bro and a 'just a week until they go home' celebration for Bandit and his mom, the Niece. He…and she…will be going back to Florida in a week, back to school…{{sob}}
No apologies, Dar! They're not necessary. You focus on taking care of yourself.
It's great that you got to meet Teddy and that you got along so well. ^-^ (I've met several online friends in RL as well and have had similar pleasant experiences.)
And what a gorgeous set of photos you've got there. ^-^ Merry Sunday!
What fun for you! I haven't met any other bloggers as yet IRL. Maybe someday!
It's really really hot here today, but I'm unpacking boxes I've had stored and reorganizing my books. Then I have to clean out my van because she's going to the car doctor tomorrow. I keep taking little breaks to jump on the computer or read. I'll probably never finish my tasks and just continue to live with stacks of books piled up around me. Ha! Great name for a blog — A Fortress of Books!
How fun! I met Liviania from In Bed With Books last week. We went to a castle together 🙂
Yay! That's awesome that you and Teddy got to meet and hit it off so well!
Today for me will be a mix of reading and doing laundry. Started reading Gabaldons' Outlander yesterday and I love it so that I cannot set it down.
Enjoy your Sunday 🙂
How fun! Glad to hear you had a good time.
Buddy is adorable!
One of these days, I'm going to just have to figure out how to hook up with some of you wonderful people! How much fun! I've been dragging myself by the fingernails to get through my current book "The Fortune Cookie Chronicles". Ugh! Not even 300 pages and I've been at it for almost a week. I'm going to try to knock it out this evening. My husband, kids and I went and saw Ponyo at the theater. We are big Miyazaki fans!
It's great that you met Teddy! Sounds like you had a really nice time together. Love the pic of you guys. I'm sorry to hear about your migraine and hope its effects didn't last long.
Buddy is adorable, love the pic of him looking like he hopes if he lets you take this picture of him he can get you to play with him.
Can't wait to read your review of The White Queen. I admit I didn't care for Fear the Worst as the review in my blog indicates. I didn't like writing a review and saying I didn't like the book, makes me feel bad but I couldn't help how I felt I guess. But other people like it so that's good for the author. I'm thinking that I want to read his first book and see what I think of it,. Did you read that one Dar?
Enjoy the rest of your day!
Amy
How neat that you got to meet! Thanks for the Buddy picture! Makes my day…
I'm hitting the movies today… later, of course… maybe after a nap!
Have a great week.
Sheri
That's so great that you had a chance to meet. I'm so happy for both of you.
Happy Sunday!
How fun! I really love meeting my blogging buddies. It sounds like you had a wonderful time – too bad about the migraine.
If I wanted a dog, I'd want one with Buddy's personality! We had three dogs over the years while the kids were growing up but when our last one, Annie, died at 15, we said no more.
Hope your headaches are gone for awhile! Enjoy yoru reading time!
It's so nice getting to meet fellow bookbloggers in person! I'm glad you and Teddy had a great time!
As always, Buddy looks adorable!
How nice that you were able to meet Teddy in person! It sounds like you have been reading some good books and I will be looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the Barclay book when you finish.
I haven't met any of the book bloggers although I've met non-book ones for social outings.
Love that picture of you with Teddy! And Teddy is sooooo cute!
I mean BUDDY!!! Oh dear, what's wrong with me. LOL!!
Wow
Dar, great minds think alike. I literally just got done posting about our meeting a couple of minutes ago. LOL!
I am so glad that I finally got to meet you! We did hit it off well, didn't we. I can't believe how many things we have in common. I think you should move to Vancouver so we can meet up more often! I think we would be best friends.
I hope that we can come to Edmonton again next summer so that you and I can meet up again. BTW, Bill says hi. He really likes you too.
P.S. I'm so sorry that you got a migraine! I hope it wasn't the strong coffee. Glad your better!
Another great picture of you and Teddy together — great that you two were able to meet up like that!
Summer has finally arrived in NS! I've been spending alot of time outside, we even got to the beach this weekend (about a 15 minute boat ride from our home) my kids were in heaven playing in the sand and waves!
Funny about Buddy running away from the camera. Our dog is too darn curious and keeps creaping up to the camera before we can snap a good pic of her, lol.
How fun! I always enjoy blogger get-togethers!
(And yes, Buddy, you're looking quite handsome.)
As I was telling Teddy Rose, I envy you both for having had the chance to meet the other! I'm glad you had such a good time 😀
How fun! I hope someday to meet up with a fellow blogger(s) in my area. Great picture.
Buddy is too cute…every picture you post of him is cuter than the last. 🙂
What a fantastic time Dar… sorry about the headache.
Buddy looks like a lovey Teddy Bear.
I haven't met any bloggers except I have met Jenn from Jenn's bookshelf THREE times..
Have a great week. I hope the headache stays away.
You both look Marvelous.
Sorry to hear about your continued migraines…ugh no fun.
I'm glad that you got to meet Teddy though. Sounds like you had a great time.
Buddy is to cute…as always.
That is so wonderful that you and Teddy got to meet and that you hit it off so well! Thanks for sharing the pictures with us. I haven't met a fellow blogger yet and look forward to it. Hoping that you're feeling better this week! Buddy is adorable as usual…love those big eyes looking up at his mommy!
I've never met any bloggers (but I did get to meet some members of an on-line book group several years ago)..sounds like you had a great day! Buddy looks adorable, as always. Hope you have a headache-free week!
This is a wonderful picture! Oh what fun. I'm very jealous. I'm glad you two got to meet and continue your friendship in person.
Lucky doesn't like baths either. I have to pick her up and carry her out to the yard, and then when we get to the back door, she puts all her limbs out like a cartoon. You have to turn her sideways to get her out.
wow very cool that you got to meet a fellow blogger!
And Buddy looks like a toy! hes too cute 🙂
hope your headaches dont keep coming back. I used to suffer from migraines too 🙁

Darling picture Dar! How fun to meet a blogging friend. I've met several and each time, it's been fun.
I love blogger meetups! Sounds like you had a great time.
I think it's wonderful that you got to meet Teddy! That's so cool.
