Read-a-Thon: Hours 11, 12, 13&14

October 25, 2009 by Darlene

What I’m Reading: The House on Tradd Street, House of Reckoning

Pages Read: a measly 33

Pages Read Total: 331

Books Read: 1

Yikes, not doing so well, am I? Well I can’t seem to stay focused although The House on Tradd Street is really good. That’s what I’m reading right now and will probably go back to it after I post this. At this point Buddy and I are laying in bed keeping warm -he’s sleeping and I’m reading and listening to the tv with one ear.

Other Things Taking up my Time:

  • my daydreaming

What’s next:

I’m going to continue on with The House on Tradd Street for a while yet. I need to know what’s going on behind the story. I’m currently munching on a mint aero bar and a big bag of cheetos is staring me in the face. Very, very bad eating habits this evening. Anyhow, I’ll be back around midnight if I’m still awake.

How’s everyone else doing? Having fun reading or cheerleading?

I'm having a little too much fun, as usual:

    It's astounding, time is fleeting
    Reading takes its toll
But listen closely, not for very much longer
    You've almost met the goal

    I remember doing the Read-a-thon
    During those moments when
The blackness would hit me and sleep would be calling
    Let's do the readathon again…
    Let's do the readathon again!

It's just a book in your hand
And then a flip of the page
With your eyes on the words
    You let your mind engage
But it's the cheerleaders that really drive you insane,
    Let's do the readathon again!

Your book is dreamy, or hot and steamy
It stars a banshee, or no one at all
It’s in another dimension, there’s no comprehension
Oh no, there’s none at all
With a bit of a page flip
You're suddenly on a space ship
And nothing can ever be the same
You're strung out on cookies, you sound like a Wookie
    Let's do the readathon again!

Well I was strolling through the bookstore just havin’ a look
When what should I espy but my next book
It shook me up, it took me by surprise
It had a sale tag and Care gave it 5 pies.
It lured me in and I felt a change
Time meant nothing, never would again
    Let's do the readathon again!

LOL–my dad loves aero bars. We don't have them down here. Ohhhh, and smarties. Yum. 🙂

Maybe you need a book that's not about houses? 🙂 If I have trouble with a book I put it down and move on. Read 15 pages of three books a few hours ago.

You are really doing great! Isn't the time flying by? I am starting to feel exhaustion setting in, but blog-hopping is helping. Keep up the good work.

I tried to eat healthy today by opting for whole grain over white flour, etc. However, I still feel like a PIG. I feel as if I have been eating all day long.

I am getting punchy now and reading the same page over and over again.
