Read-a-Thon: Hours 1&2

October 24, 2009 by Darlene

Well I had a nice and comfy time reading in bed this morning. The Reckoning is quite good! However I did doze a bit so I didn’t read as much as I would have if I had just stayed awake! Here are my stats so far:

Reading: House of Reckoning by John Saul Pages Read: 35

Reading: The Frozen Thames by Helen Humphreys Pages Read: 32

Pages Read Total: 67

I’m not sure if I’ll finish House of Reckoning or start something else and The Frozen Thames I may put down -it’s short stories which is good but not all the stories are great. Aaack! I don’t know. We’ll see. I have this whole bag of books beside me so it’s decisions, decisions and I’m never very good at making up my mind. For now I’m going back to House of Reckoning.

Other Things Taking up my Time:

  • The dog!
  • Switching to tea…
  • Lazing around (yaaaaaaaay!) and doing nothing but reading (well except for that little guy Buddy who seems to feel that today is a good day to drive me nuts).
  • Breakfast – Toast (with way too much butter).

What next:

So, nothing fancy. Just what I’m reading and how many pages. I’ll have another update in hours 3&4 and maybe some pictures of some sort. I’m still on my old computer so I can’t do a video like I had hoped. Guess that’ll be next time around. Right now I’m off to pop into a few blogs and see how my reading pals are doing.

Good luck with your reading, Darlene! Nothing beats a book, a blanket, and a cup of tea 🙂

    Traditional read-a-thon blessing:

May the bookshelf be there to greet you.
    May all the books appeal.
    May the fridge be full of tasty snacks;
the words fall soft upon your eyes and until the read-a-thon ends,
may you always hold a book in the palm of your hand.

    Good luck today!

Still reading in bed here in Seattle. We are going to have breakfast in a bit which will contain an english muffin with WAY too much butter! 🙂 Happy reading–

I should have thought about adding some short story collection to my stack but I won't be looking for any now.
Looks like progressing quite nicely. Happy reading 🙂

My lovely, wonderful tea is completely cold. (Not the Read-a-Thon's fault, though.)

Good luck with your reading, Darlene! *waves pompoms*

Looks like you are off to a good start, Dar! When it comes to books, I'm not very good at making up my mind either, I'm afraid.

Buddy needs a book of his own, I think! LOL If only we could teach them to read . . .
