September 2009 Wrap Up

October 10, 2009 by Darlene

Well as you’re about to see September was not a good month for reading at my house. My dog was sick and my dad wasn’t doing well at all. All that combined stress doesn’t make for me being able to concentrate on much of anything. I ended up knitting more than reading. Anyhow, here is what I was able to read for September – a measly 4 books – how embarrassing.

  1. The Promised World by Lisa Tucker
  2. Between Me and the River by Carrie Host
  3. Laced With Magic by Barbara Bretton
  4. House and Home by Kathleen McCleary

On a good note, I’m at 85 books this year with these four and I’ve read a couple since here in October so I’m at 88 read so I’m pretty sure I’ll make my 100 books read for the year.

My favorites of these were House and Home by Kathleen McCleary and Between Me and the River by Carrie Host.

Wow, 84 is good! I am at 51.

I can't read either when other things are on my mind. Knitting is good for that kind of thing, I have found.
As it gets closer to Christmas I knit more anyway.

85 for the year so far – that's amazing! I haven't quite reached 40 yet. Four books in one month would be a good month for me! Hope everybody is on the mend now, and you can get back to your reading. (But knitting is good too!)

See, I've been going whole hog all year and I'm only at 80, so even with a slower month, you're still ahead of me! Wendy is right, sometimes it is hard to concentrate on reading when you are troubled. Whether you read one book or 20 in a month, we will enjoy what you share with us!

I'm sorry you've had so many troubles in September. October is looking like that for me. Anyway, 4 books is still good!

No need to apologize. You still did fine, especially if you enjoyed the books you read!

Don't worry Dar- some of us haven't had it half as bad and still couldn't get through as many books. October will be better- just enjoy a bit of respite and relaxing reads- Hugs:)

That's all right, Dar. You don't have to feel bad at all. I hope your situation will improve soon. I'll continue praying for you.

I'd say that's a pretty impressive list with all that's been going on in your life! *hugs*

And congratulations on that yearly total-in-progress! ^-^

That's quite a number for the year so far! Wow! Good for you! You should be very pleased with your list for Sept! That is awesome considering everything you have going on! I LOVED Laced with Magic! Besides, it is not the number of books, is the fact that you enjoyed them that is important!!

And September was stressful, I hope things are getting better

4 books is not embarrasing Dar, I average that per month myself…lol.
    88 so far is great!

I have a very sick kitty, right now, so I can relate to the worry about your fur baby. Hopefully, October is going to end up a better reading month with less stress!!

I think you had a good month, all things considered. Hope October is treating you better.
