Challenge Updates

December 5, 2009 by Darlene

Well I’ve done miserably on a couple of challenges that I had been so excited about. I guess one could say that a lot has gone on at my house since summer and it has made catching up difficult. I was just trying to keep up with other committments. So that being said I hope to do much better next year.

First up is the Classics Challenge of which I was supposed to read 4 books and only read one. So sorry Trish and I was so looking forward to this challenge to. Anyhow, I read…

  • Ethan Frome by Edith Wharton

The Outlander Challenge of which I did extremely bad and didn’t even read one of them. The good news there is I’m joining another one for 2010 and plan on doing better.

And last for now was the Chunkster Challenge which I didn’t do too bad on. The thing is that a lot of the books I read fall just short of 450 pgs so that’s a bummer. I was supposed to read 6 books and I did! Yahooooooo! Here they are…

  • The Kingmaking by Helen Hollick (563 pgs)
  • Galway Bay by Mary Pat Kelly (567 pgs)
  • The Traitor’s Wife by Susan Higginbotham (500 pgs)
  • The Laws of Harmony by Judith Ryan Hendricks (478 pgs)
  • Holly’s Inbox by Holly Denham (Bill Surie) (665 ps)
  • Pendragon’s Banner by Helen Hollick (496 pgs)

So, there’s a few from this year. A couple other challenges run until the end of the year and some into 2010. I’ll be posting a few new ones today because I just can’t seem to resist.

Don't feel bad. I ATTACKED the Outlander Challenge this year with gusto, and still didn't finish it. That is one they need to make a multi-year challenge.

Good job Dar! I don't know if you happened to notice, but all I needed to read was two books for this challenge, but only read one! Now that's a failure if I ever saw one! lol

I think you did great, especially with all you had going on in real life. Challenges are just for fun, anyway.

2010 will be my first year of challenges. Will the Classics Challenge be going on again?

I thought about joining the Outlander challenge for re-reads but I was pretty sure I wouldn't have the time. You still did good on your challenges!

Even if you didn't finish, still be proud of what you DID do!! I barely finished the ones that I hosted and HA to the rest. 🙂 It's all in good fun, right?

To Robinbird–yes, I do plan on doing the Classics Challenge again! If not, I'm sure someone else will gladly pick it up. 🙂

You did really well on the Chunkster challenge, no wonder you didn't have time for the others. LOL You did well.

Well, you chewed through a chunk of chunksters! That's saying a lot. I really like Edith Wharton but somehow have never read ETHAN FROME. I think you accomplished quite a lot.
