Friday Finds hosted by Should Be Reading asks us to share what great books we heard about or discovered in the past week.
My find this week is a book that was released yesterday on February 18, 2010 called The Ice Cream Girls by Dorothy Koomson. Here’s a bit about it from Dorothy Koomson’s website…
what the blurb says…
As teenagers Poppy Carlisle and Serena Gorringe were the only witnesses to a tragic event. Amid heated public debate, the two seemingly glamorous teens were dubbed ‘The Ice Cream Girls’ by the press and were dealt with by the courts.
Years later, having led very different lives, Poppy is keen to set the record straight about what really happened, while married mother-of-two Serena wants no one in her present to find out about her past. But some secrets will not stay buried – and if theirs is revealed, everything will become a living hell all over again . . .
Gripping, thought-provoking and heart-warming, The Ice Cream Girls will make you wonder if you can ever truly know the people you love
what the blurb means…
The Ice Cream Girls is my first novel to be published in hardback and, quite fittingly, writing it pushed me hard. There are such extremes of emotion explored in the book that I constantly felt myself feeling conflicting things. Sometimes I was excited, other times I was scared, but all the way I couldn’t stop writing if I tried.
As with all my books, I loved telling Poppy and Serena’s stories and writing my very first whodunit. I really hope you enjoy reading it.
This is the first time I’ve heard of this author and she has several books that sound really good. This one certainly sounds like something I’d like. How about you? What did you find this week?

Sounds like this one could be very good!! Great find!
I have read several Dorothy Koomson books and really enjoyed them all. My favourite is still the first one I read, called My Best Friends Girl. So good!
Can't wait to get this one myself.
Sounds interesting. I'm glad I found your blog!
Sounds interesting! Thanks for bringing it up!
I've read one of her books. If I'm not mistaken it's MY BEST FRIEND'S GIRL. It's a good book. 🙂
