Sunday Ramblings & Pic of Buddy and the Squirrels

February 21, 2010 by Darlene

Hi everyone, I know I’m very late with this post but I’m not feeling my best so I’m just getting around to it. I don’t have a lot going on today. I got a few giveaways posted and I’m working on a review of Reasons by Tracy Fabre for tomorrow. Other than that I’m reading Our Hart by Lloyd Lofthouse, Everyday in Tuscany by Frances Mayes and The Wives of Henry Oades by Johanna Moran. Well at least those are the ones I’m focusing on for now.

It’s still pretty nice here although I wish it was warm enough to sit outside already and soak up some sun. With how nice it’s been though some of our sidewalks and alleys are pretty icy. Buddy likes walking through the alley on his walk and I just about did a few lipstands today while we were out. He looks pretty funny too when he’s paws slide in opposite directions.

Today I have a few pictures of Buddy to share with you and one of the team of squirrels who have been crazily chasing each other all day long up and down the tree in my neighbors yard and the light standard out back. They are hilarious. When Buddy and I came from our walk they were just heading towards us on the fence but Buddy barked at them and they both ran up the tree in our yard. Of course Buddy continued to bark and one of them ran away but the other stayed up in our tree and stood still for over an hour – only his eyes moved. It was pretty cute. So here’s the pics – enjoy…

Of course, what would a Sunday be like without a standard pose from the Budster.

Here he is ticked with me so he lays in front of me like this and stares at me. Doesn’t he look hilarious – just like one big blob!

And here are the squirrels. They were chasing each other round and round the trunk of the tree. It was soooooooo funny!

Well I hope you’re all having a good Sunday. What did you all do today or still plan on doing? I know most people are a few hours ahead of me in time zones so most of your day is probably over. I’m just going to get my review written and relax with a book for a while. Have a great week everyone!

I hope you feel better soon! Milou will stare at me when I'm not doing what she wants me to do. We've had a gorgeous weekend here – warm enough to sit outside for sure.

I hope that the relaxing and reading you do today makes you feel better!! Those pics are hilarious!! I love them. We had a bit of a warm-up over the weekend and now we're forecasted to get between 6-8 inches of snow late tonight!

Buddy may be ticked off in the second picture, but he sure does look cute like that!

My uncle has a German Shorthair that loves to chase squirrels. Unfortunately, he has caught a few and gotten bit. One time he had to have stitches under his eye from a squirrel bite, but he hasn't figured out to stop chasing them yet.

My husband's parents had a dog that would go nuts for squirrels. They called them "nimblies."

Buddy's always looking so adorable! I had to work for a few hours today, then had a lab at school. The TA who taught this class took forever to get through it. But I'm home now and everything's good. 🙂 Hope you get to feeling better!

Hope you're feeling better tomorrow, Dar. Buddy is adorable as always. I noticed a couple of squirrels chasing each other around the tree trunk this week, too – maybe spring is on the way!

I hope you feel better soon. It's hard to do anything when you are out of sorts. I know for me it just feels like too much of an effort sometimes.

Hey Darlene sorry you are "under the weather" and Buddy is looking more like a stuffed toy dog than a real one there! The squirrels here are also running around more now as the weather has cooperated and given us all some sunshine for 3 days straight and they are coming out to play and eat the corn put out for them and the deer in our neighborhood in the forest!

    Have a good week.
