Sunday Ramblings & Pics of Buddy and Mommy

March 28, 2010 by Darlene

Good morning everyone!  It’s a beautiful day here today and it’s supposed to stay that way so that makes me very happy.  Summer is coming – now let’s just hope that all this bragging doesn’t get me more snow like it did last week.  lol.  I can’t wait until  it’s warm enough to venture outside and drink my coffee on my bench in the morning again.

I got some good news the other day – my test results came back and they were good.  No cancer (yahooooooooooooooo) but I’m probably looking at some surgery.  Buddy has some health issues again – he’s got too much protein in his piddle so now I have to worry about his kidneys.  The vets going to do a follow up in a couple of weeks and if it still shows the same thing he’s going to analyze his blood next.  My poor little puppy has sure had a rough time of it lately.  It’s hard to believe he’s already going to be 8 years old soon but he is.  At the end of the post I have some pics of him and I so stay tuned.

I’m reading Magnolia Wednesdays by Wendy Wax and The Season of Second Chances by Diane Meier right now.  I’m really enjoying Magnolia Wednesdays and The Season of Second Chances seems to be starting off very good too.  Next up I’ve got a few historical fiction books to read that I’m looking forward to – Mistress of Rome by Kate Quinn and The Queen’s Pawn by Christy English.  April is going to be a very busy month for me with reading.

Now on to share some pics that my mom was nice enough to take of Buddy giving his mommy some much needed love… Enjoy…

First up is Buddy getting ready to moo-moo his mommy…
Next are a few shots of me getting all kinds of moo-moos…
And finally Buddy laying down and giving me the eye while waiting for the treats he knows he’s going to get after all that effort of kissing his mommy…
I hope you’ve all enjoyed the pictures of the day.  I wasn’t exactly at my most attractive for these because I was too busy trying to stay warm.  The house was freezing.  However, Buddy always looks adorable no matter what.
So, what is everyone up to today?  Are you spending time with your family, catching up on housework (like I should be doing before I’m buried in laundry), or are you just relaxing with a book?  Whatever it is I hope you’re having the best day you can!

I am so glad Dar! That must be a major relief! I think you should definitely take some time to enjoy the relieving moment! Buddy is adorable as usual. Charlee and I had fun bathtime yesterday…let's just say he hates baths and he let me know it by giving me one…lol

Dar, you are always beautiful no matter what…..Buddy, well, he's just too adorable for words. Enjoy your Sunday romping with Buddy, reading and yes, even laundry. Thank God for the good news! Stay well, Tootsie.

Dar, I'm so relieved and happy for you. I'm sure you're much more relaxed since getting the good health news. I hope you can figure out what's up with Buddy. He's so cute and the pictures show how much he loves his Dar 🙂

I read Magnolia Wednesdays (liked it) and my review for The Season of Second Chances will post on Tuesday.

We'll take the dogs for a walk later. Its a bit chilly here this morning but should reach the 50s this afternoon. The weather people are saying temps near 70 later this week. Looking forward to that, as you can imagine! Have a great week.

Oh Dar, I am so glad your tests came back negative! Maybe all those prayers I was saying worked a little! Prayers and doggie kisses, that is!

sheesh. We really ARE our worst critics.

farmlane – thanks, and yes it is a relief for sure!

Nan- thank you. Buddy has been very kissy the last few days. lol.

Serena, it is a relief – like a friend of mine said – the most precious words to hear. lol – Buddy isn't too bad in the bath, it's haircuts he really doesn't like. I usually just put on my bathing suit and stand in the tub with Buddy. Otherwise it's impossible to get him done.

Kaye, you're always my biggest supporter- means a lot to me. So far I'm just trying to stay warm today; it's chilly. I bet it's a whole lot nicer at your house.

Mary, thank you. I am much more relaxed. I hope it'll be nothing serious with the Budster too. I guess they aren't any different than us when they get older. You're always ahead of me in reading. lol. It's chilly here this morning too (although still beautiful) although they're saying it's going to warm up. Buddy and I usually venture out for our walk around 11 am.

Sandy, I know those prayers of yours worked! And who can beat doggie kisses right!

Susan, thanks. Yup, we are our own worst critics. lol.

Kathy, thanks for being so supportive – meant a lot to me. Ssshh, I did buy some eBooks… Thanks for the compliment.

  17. Darlene says

    March 28, 2010 at 4:10 pm

Christina, thank you and glad you liked the pics.

Janel, yup he was getting all geared up to start kissing. lol.

Nise, thank you. Buddy is always happy if he thinks a treat is coming his way. I hope the sun comes out more today too – it's staying nice but chilly.

Diane, thanks. I don't know that I'll be able to avoid surgery but it's still better than the alternative. My mom has high protein too. It's strange how pets have most of the same types of things we get. Thanks for the compliment on the photos.

    March 28, 2010 at 4:12 pm

Beth, thank you. It's nice but the sun isn't quite staying out. I'm hoping it peeks out some more so it'll warm up more. Have a great day too!

JoAnn, thank you. We were having fun. Our pets can always make us laugh.

I'm so releived that you don't have cancer! Thanks goodness! My fingers are crossed that you don't have to have surgery but keep us posted.

You and Buddy are so cute together! Have you tried him on a vegetarian diet? There are some veggie dog foods out there and are good for dogs with allergies. I'm not sure but perhaps they are lower protein as well.
