Teaser Tuedays (June 15)

June 15, 2010 by Darlene

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

* Grab your current read
* Open to a random page
* Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
* Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

My teasers this week come from Green Darkness by Anya Seton…By the way I love this book cover. It is so rich and beautiful…

‘Celia did not move. Her transfixed eyes were strained towards the wall on her left. They showed white around the irises as they stared, unblinking. “How long will it be, Stephen?” she said in a faint, reasonable voice. “How long must it take one to die?” (pg 67)

I’m only about 40 pages into this novel but it’s promising to be quite good. It’s also a chunkster at 600 pages so it’s probably going to take me a while as I’ll be reading others along with it. I figure I’ll treat myself with a chapter a day as they are quite long.

How about you, do you have any teasers to share from your current read today?

    Nothing like a really good chunkster to immerse yourself in. I hope you savor it and enjoy.

    Here is my TT with link to a giveaway of the teaser book.

    A chapter a day sounds like a good way to enjoy a chunkster. A little off topic here but the cover of that book brings back memories of playing a game called Masterpiece.

    There's nothing like a good chunkster for summer reading! I have a friend that keeps telling me I need to read Katherine… sounds like I need to look into this author!

    Darlene…this sounds good. I love her writing so much that 600 pages would be a joy. Right?

    My heart and tummy did a roller coaster dive when I read the question. How long must it take one to die? I wonder too.

    We have been having an Anya Seton Season at Historical Tapestry this month. I have read a few of her books, but this one is the one that I have my eye on next as it sounds really good.
