Morning everyone! I’m just settling in with my second cup of coffee after coming back from walking the Budster and trying to get him to eat. He’s none too interested today yet and we had to play the toss the food on the floor game again. What I wouldn’t give if he could just talk and tell me what he wanted. Then again, that’s one nice thing about pets – they can’t really talk back although Buddy does find other ways. lol.
On the reading front – well I’m in a reading slump. It doesn’t happen often but it’s happening. I just don’t feel like reading but I’m going to have to get my butt in gear because I have a bunch of tours coming up of some really good books. I just started How to Be an American Housewife by Margaret Dilloway for her book tour with TLC Book Tours and I’m not too far into it but it’s already intriguing me. So maybe this will be the book to get me back on track. I sure hope so!
Not much on the agenda for today. I haven’t been visiting blogs at all this weekend because I was very busy yesterday playing on my test blog to get the blog I picked to where I want it. I’m really beginning to have fun with the html code and getting things to work. The only thing that doesn’t seem to work for me is saving a template and then trying to download it on another blog. I don’t know why but it screws up every time. So I have a lot of work ahead of me when I download the new template and have to go back and fix all the things that I changed on the test blog but it’s ok because I actually enjoy it.
As for Buddy, he’s laying up on my shoulder right now checking out the neighborhood and making sure nothing happens that he doesn’t approve of. I gave him a haircut on Friday because he was just too hot in this weather and then he had his bath and smelled so good of baby shampoo. So I got a couple of pictures of him when he jumped up on the chair and buried himself under the pillow – he looks so cute!
So what’s everyone up to today? Did you do anything exciting this weekend? Whatever you’re doing I hope you’re having a great day and your week ahead is a good one!
Awww what a cutie, and sorry about the reading slump, it happens to the best of us.
My weekend, well I was ill during the week and now my nose is all runny, and I seem to have passed on the flu to bf
Glad you and Buddy are spending some quality time together! He's such a cutie!
As far as reading slumps go, sometimes we just need to rest our eyes & brains from all those words, and I'm sure you'll be back to your voracious reading self soon!
Have a great week!
The hubby and I went to see Despicable Me. Great movie!
Other than that staying home, have some homework to do (after I get off Blogger hee hee) and just relax.
Have a good week!
Peace…NM
PS>Buddy is cute!
Buddy looks adorable! I am fighting a reading slump as well. Sometimes it seems like work, especially when I've agreed to review a book that it turns out I don't like! Well, it will pass for both of us, I'm sure!!!
Buddy looks absolutely adorable and comfy there!
Good luck in playing with your blog settings!
I want to get back to my blogging and reading routines soon.
There's nothing like the smell of a freshly-bathed dog! I've been working on a new template on my test blog, too, but the whole process has been frustrating… lots of error messages when I try to do anything. Hope the reading slump ends soon.
I'm so glad to hear more about Buddy…I think about you and him often. Don't worry about your reading slump, it will pass. And we'll all be waiting to hear which book is able to snap you out of it. Hope you have a great week!
Buddy doesn't want you to find him and give him another bath! Not much going on in this neck of the woods.
Darlene, I do not comment all the time, but I do read all of your post in my reader. But today… Your Buddy is just too precious. I have two pups myself and I love them to pieces. And I just wanted to let you know that I love when you share these precious pics of him. That is what this community so special. We might share all things personal and private… but when we do share… it is wonderful!!!
I hope you have a great Sunday hon!
Hugs to you!
I hope you've found the book to get you out of your slump! I really need to set up a test blog but I think I'll wait to see if you figure out how to transfer the template first!
Sorry about the reading slump. I think we all have that at some point. Buddy is so cute hiding under the pillow! He looks so cozy!
Buddy is such a cutie! Please give him a little rub down fro me.
Sorry about the reading slump. I just finished The Thief by Megan Whalen Turner and it was perfect! Not too long, but definitely a page turner. It's a YA book so nothing too heavy. Def recommend that one.
We had pouring down rain all day Saturday in Philly, but we needed it. Now it's only 90 with some humidity but compared to last week's 102 it feels great!
Enjoy your week and happy reading your ARC's. Thanks for stopping by Pumpkin 🙂
It is hard to read like a demon 24/7/365. I think it is hardest of all in the summer when there are so many things going on. I had to play games to get my daughter to eat, so I understand. But you have to do what you have to do. We just went and saw Descpicable Me (very cute) and I'm hoping to squeeze in some time to write a review and read a little!
I hope Buddy has regained his appetite this evening. My little one has been sleeping more than usual–or so it seems. I'm hoping it's just the heat.
I'm reading five books right now. Not sure how that happened exactly. I am a one book woman most of the time. We'll see how this works out for me.
I hope you have a good week, Darlene!
It just started to rain and I'm so glad for it..cooled it off a bit. We've had some tornadoes last week..nasty stuff!! I think Buddy likes his food thrown to him…he's got your number LOL!! I'm in a reading slump today too….nothing seems to catch me so I've been sitting around watching t.v. and being on the computer!!
Have a great week Dar!
I hate reading slumps!
Awww….Buddy is really super cute… 🙂 and am sure you will snap out of your reading slump soon…
My weekend was spent lazing around and watching the World Cup finals on TV with my husband…
take care…

Buddy looks so cute!!
We had a pretty wicked rain storm today, but just some wind – no thunder or lightening.
As always, Buddy is adorable!!
Reading slumps… we all have them at times. I hope you'll get over yours soon. 🙂
Hope you have a great week ahead!
Buddy is so gorgeous.
I'm sorry about the reading slump. I hate when that happens. Great pictures!
Darlene, bet by now you know that all of us are so happy to see the little cutie on Sundays! He loves to take pictures and be the center of your attention for sure and am so happy that you are on a cheerier note today. The reading slump will pass and yes playing with a test blog can be frustrating, especially when like me you do not really know HTML but it has been fun over the past year and some months to learn more and more of it.
Have a great week!
jackie ^_^
Buddy is just so cute! Good luck with the blog changes. They can take so much time.
We took our last visitor to the airport, so I'm settling back into what my routine will be for the final four weeks I'll be here. I'm hoping to get a lot more read in the final days ahead!
Glad to hear that Buddy is happy…love the pics today!
Good luck with your new blog template, I'm looking forward to seeing your new look. I've been in a reading slump off/on these past few months so I understand that feeling. It's not good when you have stacks of books to read:)
i think my reading slowdown is directly related to these allergies that are kicking my butt. Anna and I planned a surprise camping trip for my hubby, even though his birthday was at the end of June. He had a good time, and I did too for the most part. It only rained the first day and night we were there. Gotta love taking off a Friday and having it be miserable.
Buddy looks adorable. Still playful.
Buddy is one handsome fellow, and I am glad to hear that he's doing well! I know what it's like to be in a reading slump for sure! I had a pretty bad one a few months ago, and no matter what I tried to read, I just couldn't get with it. I hope that things get back on track soon and that you have a great week!
I think that is the best pictures of Buddy yet! But then I say that every time. He is so adorable.
Congrats on your garden! I've never tried growing swiss chard.
We had rolling thunder yesterday. Our side of town had an inch and a half of rain while the other side had four inches!
Good luck on your test blog! Sounds like you're having fun.
Listening to the Incredible Journey this week, and reading Cold Noses at the Pearly Gates.
Have a great week!
(If I am double posting you can delete this one, I thought I already wrote.)
I like your new digs. I love the pics of Buddy, even though I have two cats.
Whoa ho! You've changed!!!!!
I like it!
Its bright and pretty. I like the white background, its easier to read.
Nice job, Dar!
Buddy is ALWAYS a cutie-pie!! I'll be interested to see what you think of How to Be An American Housewife. Have a wonderful week.
Dar, I love your new template. I recently changed mine and I love it so much better! It reflects me as a person better.

Buddy looks adorable under the pillow! His eyes look bright and playful too. I hope his appetite has improved. I think most of the time I prefer that my cats don't speak but everyone once in a while, when they are being very fussy, I wish they would tell me what it is they want because I hate not knowing and feeling as if I am always disappointing them! lol
It's hot and humid here and sometimes I feel so lethargic not even a great book intrigues me. Maybe that's where your slump comes from. Hopefully it's short-lived for your sake, Dar :o)
What else did you plant in your garden? I have to get on that for next year. I'm so lazy about it!
I hope you get a good thunderstorm or two soon but no Tornadoes!
~ Amy
Buddy is such a doll!
I'm sure you'll get out of the reading slump soon. I think it's just that time of year.
