Waiting on Wednesday (September 1)

September 1, 2010 by Darlene

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.

This week is a book I’m eagerly anticipating to read called The Forever Queen by one of my most favorite authors, Helen Hollick. It releases November November 1/10 by Sourcebooks. Here’s a bit about it from Amazon.com…

Married to a king incompetent both on the throne and in bed, Emma does not love her husband. But she does love England. Even as her husband fails, Emma vows to protect her people-no matter what. For five decades, through love and loss, prosperity and exile, Emma fights for England, becoming the only woman to have been anointed, crowned, and reigning queen to two different kings, the mother of two more, and the great aunt of William the Conqueror.

I can’t wait to read this and I will be come November. Helen writes the most engrossing historical fiction that always has me curled up on the sofa with a blanket and the dog. How about you – are you waiting for anything this week?

    This one has some potential! I am probably waiting on something, but I can't even keep up with the ones that came out last month!

    Since I don't know much about this particular story or time, and I love historical fiction, this one goes right on the list! Thanks, Dar!

    haven't heard of this one either but you do seem to ferret out the best reads. Hope you enjoy it in Nov. With all my blog woes of the last few days, I didn't even do a WOW. Hope you and Buddy have a good week and the little guy feels better. {{Hugs}}

    This sounds great! I'm looking forward to this one based on your raves (not too much pressure! lol) because I'm a "novice" when it comes to historical fiction but enjoying it little by little!
