Quick Sunday Ramblings & Pic of Sammy

February 27, 2011 by Darlene

Morning everyone, just a quick post this morning. It’s back to snowing at my house and we’re in for a good amount once again – at least 4-5 inches by the time it’s done, possibly more. To top it off the wind is blowing good. Sammy just stands out there and keeps looking behind him to see what’s happening. lol.

This week is another busy week on my blog. I’ve got a few guest posts coming up and a few reviews. Here’s the week to come:

Monday – guest post/giveaway with Patricia Selbert, author of The House of Six Doors

Tuesday – guest post/giveaway with Victoria Patterson, author of This Vacant Paradise

Wednesday- review of Flavors by Emily Sue Harvey

Thursday – review of The House of Six Doors by Patricia Selbert

Friday – review of Sink or Swim by Stacy Juba

It’s been a stressful week here. Sammy wasn’t feeling too well – had some tummy troubles. The vet had me not feed him for a day and I’ll tell you guys that was a hard thing for me to do. After watching Buddy refuse food I had such a hard time not being able to give Sammy anything. I spent most of the day in tears, it just brought back so many bad memories. Yesterday I was able to feed him canned and again today and he is seeming more back to his old self. I’m going to start back feeding him his regular food slowly and hopefully nip the tummy troubles before they get out of hand. I haven’t got much for pictures this week – just this one…and boy does he need a haircut- for today though I’m going to unbury that one eye. lolol.

Did everyone have a good weekend? What did you all do? I’m going to hibernate inside today with my books and keep warm! Have a great week ahead folks!

Hugs from my Sammy to yours (although I suspect the wouldn't get on so well if they met in the flesh – my Sammy is a feline!)

Poor Sammy! I'm not sure Milou could tolerate a day without food – she is hungry all the time. I hope you have a great, stress-free week.

I am sorry Sammy had some tummy trouble and that it brought back the stress and grief of Buddy. I hope he is getting back to normal! We are expecting buckets of rain on top of the 3 inches of snow we just got!

Hi Dar…glad Sammy is a bit better. Some dogs just have such sensitive bellies. Have a great week.

Hope Sammy is better very soon.

Think we are done with the snow here in the UK for this winter.

    Keep warm and well

I'm so sorry to hear Sammy wasn't feeling good, that is so hard to bear. I hope he is feeling better this afternoon. It is so hard to refuse them anything when they look at you so forlornly and beg.

I have been reading on a book about John Kennedy, and listening to Splendid Solutions about Jonas Salk and the polio vaccine. Next up will have to be something lighter!

Looking forward to going over to Ames this evening if the weather holds (we may get that freezing mix stuff). The author Michael Perry is going to be doing a book reading in the sunroom at the Memorial Union on Iowa State campus. I think it should be fun! I don't usually get to go to things like that.

Hope you have a great week!

I am so sorry Sammy wasn't feeling well. I am sure it's nothing.

My parents cat was puking a lot so they stopped giving her dry food and she is better now. Food can be tricky

Sammy is so cute! Hope he's feeling better soon! Today I'm taking it easy. Kylie was here for a whole week and I'm pooped. Happy, though! I just love that kid!

Sweet sweet Sammy! I hope he feels better soon. We played outside today because it was in the 60s, which I admit was very nice. Not much else going on here though 🙂

Hope Sammy is feeling better! I can imagine what was going through your mind when he wasn't feeling great! But puppy's go through all sorts of adjustments, and I'm sure he'll be flying through ALL THAT SNOW soon!

I'm finishing up a book for book group called The Reluctant Tuscan, and it is hilarious! A wife buys a fixer upper in Tuscany and it's all about her and her husband adjusting to life in Italy! It's a true story too! And really shows what life in a small community can be like.

Have a great week! Hope you don't get too much snow!

I'm sure the food thing is just passing incident. I know how scared it must have made you though, poor thing. Hope everything is fine, and enjoy your week Pumpkin!

I bet that did bring all of Buddy's problems back, but I'm sure Sammy just had an upset stomach like we get now and again. He is so darned cute…I would hate to cut that little side bang he's got going on!

Oh Dar, I imagine that Sammy being sick was just awful for you after having had to watch Buddy go through so much, and I am glad to hear that he is on the mend now.

It sounds like you have a pretty busy week here on the blog, and I am looking forward to every minute of it! Have a great week in reading!
