Waiting on Wednesday (February 9)

February 9, 2011 by Darlene

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.

My pick this week is by one of my favorite authors: The Beach Trees by Karen White to be released by NAL Trade on May 3, 2011. Here’s a short description of it from Amazon.com…

The moving new novel from bestselling author Karen White.

From the time she was twelve, Julie Holt knew what a random tragedy can do to a family. At that tender age, her little sister disappeared-never to be found. It was a loss that slowly eroded the family bonds she once relied on. As an adult with a prestigious job in the arts, Julie meets a struggling artist who reminds her so much of her sister, she can’t help feeling protective. It is a friendship that begins a long and painful process of healing for Julie, leading her to a house on the Gulf Coast, ravaged by hurricane Katrina, and to stories of family that take her deep into the past.

It sounds fantastic as do all of Karen’s novels. Here’s another one that I’m anxious to read! I really love the cover too and oh, how I wish I was sitting on that beach right now. How about you – what did you find that you are waiting on this week? Share in the comments or leave me your link. Have a great day everyone!

The book sounds good and that cover is really nice. More than beach for me it looks like a marsh.

I like White's Charleston ghost series but I haven't tried anything else by her. This does sound like something I may enjoy.
