Teaser Tuesdays (March 22)

March 22, 2011 by Darlene

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

* Grab your current read
* Open to a random page
* Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
* Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

My teasers this week come from The Peach Keeper by Sarah Addison Allen releasing today, March 22/11. This is Sarah Addison Allen’s fourth book and I’ve been so excited to read it having read all her others. I’ve been a fan of hers since her first novel Garden Spells which I fell in love with. Here’s a few teasers…

‘Every teenager who had ever broken into the house had come away with stories of mysterious footsteps and slamming doors and a dark fedora that floated through the air, as if worn by an invisible man. Maybe that was what had always kept her from getting too close. Ghosts scared her, thanks to her grandmother.’ (page 13)

I’m not too far into the novel yet but already I’m captivated by the writing and the story. I hope to have a review for you by the end of the week. How about you – do you have any teasers this week? Share with me your link or share in the comments. Have a great day!

    I have heard good things about this author, and have one of her books on my shelf as well. I am going to have to check this one out too, because the teaser intrigues! Great choice, Dar!

    Hello Darlene,

    It's nice to 'meet' you and thanks for adding me to your 'twitter' follows.

    I have signed up as a 'google' follower and will return the favour on twitter shortly.

    Your teasers had me intrigued enough to take a peek at the full synopsis. I stil can't make up my mind if this is a light-hearted read, or something deadly serious and the cover doesn't really give any clues either, so I guess I shall have to stop by again, when you post your review.

    Personally I am not at all superstitious, but I have a particular friend who drives me mad with her strange superstitions and actions. It's difficult not to smile sometimes, but she is deadly serious about it, so that would be very cruel of me.

    Very intriguing teaser Darlene, I am reading "Bite Me" on my Kindle today.. It is a free read by Parker Blue from Amazon….

    I turned to Micah, prepared to apologize but he didn't look angry. In fact, his expression was totally bland as he continued to pet Fang. The Hellhound had a blissful look on his face from all the attention.
