Some Days It’s Just Better to Stay in Bed!

April 13, 2011 by Darlene

Well as you all can see the minute you visit my blog is that it doesn’t look like it used to and nor does it look like anything I really want it to look like.

One of my dear bloggy friends Heather was nice enough to email me this morning and tell me my blog was all messed up. So I go look at it and she’s right – it’s a disaster. My header is gone and the whole left side of the blog is a mess. I go looking for some kind of template I can use for now and find one, install it and – go figure with the way my day is going – it doesn’t work! Everything is on the left side of the blog and won’t move for nobody. Ok, by now I’m in a panic and decide to just go back to the basics which is what you’re seeing now.

Thankfully I’m already having my blog redesigned by a professional (which I’m definitely not!). However it may be a few months before it’s even done. I don’t know if I’ll stay with this design as I’m not really fond of the darkness of it but for right now it’ll do. At least everything is where it’s supposed to be and I haven’t lost anything. If I’m smart I’ll just leave it alone until it’s redone by an expert.

Anyhow, that’s the story of my wacky day. I never got my book read and I have a tour date shortly. I’ve gotten a migraine from all this and probably won’t be able to read now. To top it all off I’m very, very frustrated!

Thank you all for listening to my rant. I’m done now…

I'll bet you were (and are) very upset! What a nightmare. I hope you can get things back the way you want them soon. Maybe tomorrow will be a much better day. xxx

Oh I sympathise Dar, nothing worse, it drives me nuts when stuff like that happens to my blog and unfortunately I (probably like you) know enough to do a little but nowhere near enough to be classed as professional lol. My blog is on the waiting list to have a professional makeover soon so I'm not touching it!
Thank goodness you havent lost anything so just breathe & wait for the experts to do their thing 🙂

Awww…how frustrating! I mess around with my blog design sometimes but only a little bit since I'm afraid of messing everything up. Hope you get everything fixed and the way you like it soon 🙂

My goodness, you too? Mine went haywire last night, as well, and I only found out by accident when I viewed it from a different browser!

Your frustration is well understood… I hope your blog doesn't give you any additional headaches. Take care!

How frustrating! Blogs should be fun, not so stressful!

I saw another blog with the same problem and figured photo bucket would have it fixed soon.

Aparently alot of bloggers who use photobucket had problems today. Its not fun when stuff happens.

    Oh gosh! I like this theme. Just walk away and leave the blog alone. 🙂 Hope that headache goes away tonight. {{{Hugs}}}

I'm always scared something like that will happen to me. Hope you get it right where you want it and it stays that way

I suck at technical things, so I can empathize with your frustration! But this template is fine…I can read your words, which are the most important thing. Look forward to your new look though!

Dar, it's not as horrible as you think. I actually like the new design, but can see why you were frustrated with it. If I had to make a change on the fly, I would be upset too. Don't worry too much about it, your new design will be incorporated soon.

I saw that everything was out of place the other day but there was a note saying (under construction) so I assumed you knew about it. What do you think happened?

I would leave it for now. As you said, a professional will be able to look at it soon and it's not missing anything. So sorry you got a migraine over all of this.

How frustrating! At least you didn't lose anything. I had assumed it was a problem with photobucket and they would have been quick to fix it. I actually like the new look, though.

I can see everything Dar, I think it will be ok. I saw a couple other blogs that had "photobucket maintenance" things on them. It wasn't just yours.
    Take a break with Sammy!

Oh no Pumpkin! And I thought I was having a crappy time lately. Hang in there. I think it's fine for now. Now go read a book and relax 🙂

And once again I'm reminded why I so rarely mess with my blog. I find mine quite dull and screwed up the header and can't get it fixed but I refuse to take any more chances. It's so frustrating, isn't it?!

Whoa! What happened? It makes me nervous, but sad for the folks who I've heard had issues. You know, I still have never backed up my blog. BIG mistake, I know. Although, who knows if that would have even helped here? I'm so sorry! I hope things go better soon.

I agree that is kind of dark but I really like the graphic behind it. I guess because it has a historical feel with the phone.

I'm sorry that you have to mess with this…wonder what happened???!!! Hopefully you won't let it bother you too much and just move on and wait for the professional. Me…I'd obsess over it so much that chances are I would make it blow up!! 😀

It looks like you patched things up but it sounds like it was stressful. I wonder why that happened, did you figure it out?
