Sunday Ramblings & Pictures of Sammy

April 24, 2011 by Darlene

Good morning everyone! How are you all doing this Easter weekend? Are you having a big family thing or just a quiet one? It’s going to be a quiet one at my house which is ok with me. I might actually get some reading done I hope.

It’s still cold here. I don’t think spring is ever coming at this point. It’s been really windy and the wind is like a fall wind not summer. Walking Sam certainly hasn’t been pleasant in it although kind of funny because he’s constantly turning around to look at his butt to see who’s playing with his tail. Then he’ll give me this look like it’s me doing something to him when it’s only the wind. He’s quite the personality.

I don’t think he did anything really funny this week other than having a few crazy days and now a few quiet ones. I’m beginning to think that’s just how he is although it seems strange. I had mentioned the other day that he got his nose nipped but it’s ok now. The only thing is he doesn’t even want to walk down that block anymore so I guess he remembers that’s where that dog was that bit his poor little nosey. I’m going to try once more to take the clippers to him and if I can’t get anywhere then he’s going to have to go to the groomers and let them try. I dread it though because he’s really quite scared of those clippers. I found some mats though under his arms from his harness so I’m going to have to make sure and keep that hair really trimmed.

As for the blog, nothing too exciting this week – just some reviews of A Race to Splendor by Ciji Ware (I hope!), The Confession of Katherine Howard by Suzannah Dunn and Miss Hildreth Wore Brown by Olivia deBelle Byrd. I really need to buckle down today and get some reading done. I meant to do a lot of reading Saturday and somehow that just didn’t work out for me. I guess I must like the pressure of having to get a book done in a day or something. Although I do have to say that at least that way the book is really fresh in your mind for a review.

On to Sammy pictures. I have a few for you this week of my little destructor. I can’t believe how he manages to tear apart all his toys. I just bought these really cool ones for him last week and he already pulled them apart to the point where I can’t let him have them because he’s basically eating them. Enjoy…

Hee, hee; mommy just bought me this toy the other day and I’ve already ripped a hole in the back and now I’ve chewed the side off. Sssssssssssssssssh, she doesn’t know about it yet though!
I’m so tired and she’s still chasing me with that camera. Can’t a guy just get some shut eye without those flashing lights? By the way, am I not the cutest little guy you’ve ever seen?

Well that’s it for me this week. I’m going to settle in with some coffee and a book and hopefully spend most of my day that way. I hope you’re all having a wonderful Easter!

Cooper is only allowed bones because he doesn't know how to treat his toys. Our boys are very cute. Cooper's had an attitude since he went to the vet & groomer on Friday; I think he feels naked.

I love getting my Sammy fix every Sunday morning. He is the cutest guy I have ever seen! Sammy, you are supposed to sleep IN the bed, lol! Spring is slowly coming here. I hope we spring arrives before summer does! Happy Easter

Your weather sounds similar to ours and we aren't thrilled walking in the wind and cold. I guess the upside is that the wind dries the wet ground, right? Love the Sammy pics πŸ™‚ Have a nice, relaxing day and a good week, Dar.

I know my parents in Indiana are having nasty cold and rainy weather, while we are already griping about the heat. We don't have family down here, so we will be celebrating Easter with friends.

And as for clipping nails, I don't do nails. I even take my guinea pig to the vet to get his nails done. Can't stand the squirming and screaming.

That is cute that the wind confuses Sammy…I couldn't help but laugh! I'm falling behind on my review books and hate it…I'm a low key kinda reader and don't like any pressure. So I'll probably be late on a few reviews but it is better than me going in a reading slump and not reading at all. Hope you have a wonderful Easter and a great week!

Happy Easter, Dar! We had to give up on stuffed toys a long time ago. Only the plastic or rubber ones designated for hard chewers for us!

Sammy is adorable! I don't think I've ever met a dog who liked those clippers.

I love seeing the Sammy pictures on Sunday's Dar. It sounds like fabric toys are out for him and he should stick to rubber/plastic ones or those rawhide chewies. I hope it warms up soon there.

Warm enough in eastern Ontario this morning for me to do two hours of gardening. I managed to cut off all the large grasses so that the new growth can begin. These grasses look so nice in the winter, poking up through the snow. The largest ones are almost six feet tall. I am attacking the gardens – one by one, starting at the ones closest to the house. The heucerias look as if there hasn't been a winter. I put them under styrofoam buckets so they look like they did in the fall.
Sammy is as cute as ever. I hope that he does not transfer his chewing to your sofas.

    Happy Easter!

Toys for the boys, my "boy" chews his soft toys on a corner until he makes a hole.. He then proceeds to try and eat the toy at which point it becomes another one that he can only "look" at and never play with again!

Easter weekend has been one of working on outdoor projects, running errands and hanging out with Mom and my sweetie… Not very many times when my Husband gets to be home for three straight days so we make the most of it when he is!
Today was grill outside and eat and nap and read day….

Happy Easter to you and Sam Darlene, he is still cute even when being destructive with his stuff!

Aww Sammy is so cute, and what a great new toy he has.
Happy Easter Darlene! Too bad about spring, I actually felt spring for the first time this weekend, even saw the first flower. Or the one that comes in spring, the rest comes in June

You can barely see his eyes!! Our dog Lily can destroy anything in a matter of minutes. Maybe you and I should put our heads together and design the indestructible toy…we could be rich!

Happy Easter Dar πŸ™‚ Sammy is tooo cute as usual.
It's rained nearly every day this month here, and today was no exception, but the weather was unusually mild…I think it was in the 70's. So it was really nice. Enjoy your week!

I can't wait to see if our opinions of The Confessions of Katherine Howard are similar or not, so I will be looking out for your review. I also wanted to wish you a Happy Easter, and I hope that you do indeed get some time to get reading in. Have a great and productive week, my friend!

Sammy is so sweet. We had a small Easter dinner- just my husband and me, the inlaws, a friend and my dad. In the past they've had bashes with up to 30 people! I miss those days but the quiet afternoons are good, too!

Yes, he is the cutest little guy and I look forward to his pictures and stories each week.

Our Easter was so quiet, it was nonexistant! I get holidayed out! Thanksgiving and Christmas are enough.
