Happy Sunday everyone! I hope you’re all having a wonderful weekend. Has anyone done anything fun? Are you reading anything good? As you all probably know blogger was having some serious issues last week and while they did restore my review on The Midwife’s Confession, the comments that I had on it disappeared never to be seen again. I very much enjoyed this book and it’ll be making my favorites this year. I can’t believe I’ve never read anything by Diane Chamberlain before because I certainly will be now. I was supposed to have a review of Ten Beach road by Wendy Wax posted on Friday but of course I couldn’t. It’s now been rescheduled to June 1 but I do have to say that I absolutely loved the book!
This past week was an ok week. Our weather leaves something to be desired. I told a few people that Sammy and I could literally be blown miles away onto their doorsteps. It’s that windy. I sure hope our whole summer won’t be like this. My walks with Sammy haven’t been very pleasant and he really doesn’t like the wind blowing up his you know where as well. lol. I do have a Sammy story for you, at least I don’t think I’ve told you all this one before. Lately when I put his food in his bowl and he’s not interested in eating it, he tries to bury it. Yup, bury it. I have a rug under his bowl and then one of those pee pads because occasionally he likes to fall into his water bowl and we have laminate flooring in the kitchen. Anyhow, he puts his nose under the pad and the rug and works his way around pushing it over his bowl, all the while his water flying all over. It is pretty funny but still not a great thing to be doing. I’d love to get some video of it but by then the water would be everywhere.
On the reading front I started Exposure by Therese Fowler yesterday and I’m really enjoying it. I just love her style of writing and her ability to capture my interest right off. I’ll probably spend the rest of the day today reading it as my review is coming up this week. It is going to be a busy week on Peeking Between the Pages…here is what’s coming up…
Tuesday – Review of Exposure by Therese Fowler.
Wednesday – Guest Post & Giveaway with Therese Fowler, author of Exposure.
Thursday – Guest Post & Giveaway with Diane Chamberlain, author of The Midwife’s Confession.
Friday – Review of Skinny by Diana Spechler.
I hope you’ll all stop by and check out everything that will be going on. I hope to have more time to visit blogs this week. I had so much reading to do last week that I just couldn’t keep up and a migraine on top of it. Then to top it off I couldn’t post my review on Friday anyway.
To finish off this fine Sunday I’m going to leave you with some pictures of Sammy. I hope you enjoy them…

Have a great Sunday everyone! I look forward to catching up with you all this week. Happy Reading!

Hahaha I love your little stories about Sammy.
We had to get Martina a big heavy water bowl because she liked to dump hers over and play in the water! She would actually take her paw and overturn the bowl. Well we fixed her, we got a bowl that wouldn't flip. I know this because, I stood there in the store and tried them all! LOL
Blogger was driving me crazy last week! A bunch of people signed up for my giveaway and now they are gone! I hope they come back and re-enter.
Really sorry about the Blogger issues, Dar. I hope they can get your comments back soon! I haven't read any of Diane Chamberlain's books but I'll add her to the look for list. It has been incredibly windy in my area too. Sounds more like winter than spring! Let's hope the winds calm and the temps rise a bit. We need some Spring 🙂 Cute pics of Sammy.
OMG that second picture of him could melt butter! Such a sweetheart.
That Blogger issue really was annoying. It completely did a disservice to the review I published (finally) on Friday. I lost all of my comments on my Thursday post too. Boo on them. I know these things happen with any service, but it sure was disruptive.
I am about a hundred pages into Skinny…I'm enjoying it! I can't wait to see what you thought.
I read somewhere on Blogger that all of the missing comments (I have some missing too) will be back sometime this weekend or in the next couple of days. I sure hope they come back…LOL! Sammy is his usual cute self as always. Hope you have a wonderful week!
Ayuh, Blogger sure messed us up this week. Hopefully, that won't happen again to that degree. Enough treats and Sammy will be begging you to take his picture.
I started The Linen Queen last night and am loving it! Glad to hear you liked Ten Beach Road so much. Have a wonderful Sunday, Dar and Sammy.
Happy Sunday Dar, cute pics of Sammy!
He sounds too cute trying to bury his food bowl….lol. Aren't they funny?
I know blogger has been a pain lately.
Enjoy your Sunday 😉
What a riot about burying the food! The blogger thing was frustrating for everyone – including those who left comments! But gosh, having almost lost my entire blog once, I can live with it when the blogging services have issues for a day or two! :–)
Sammy is so cute! I've kind of wanted a dog lately, but I have a spoiled rotten cat who a) is scared of dogs and b) thinks she owns the house. She's all black though, so she and Sammy would match nicely 😉
I really like the middle picture, too! Funny that Sammy will bury his food. I think Zelda would eat herself to death… anything in the bowl is gobbled up instantly. She NEVER feels like not eating, lol!
Blogger was really frustrating this week.
Sammy is just sooo funny. That is hilarious with him hiding his bowl. Sorry he doesn't love the wind though.
Blogger sure made for an interesting week..grr. Glad it is working now so we can get our Sammy fix! I never get tired of the Sammy stories or pics! Looks like a busy week for you on the blog. Looking forward to your posts. The weather stinks here as well. It feels like late fall here. I hope we both get to experience spring soon.
Sammy is just too cute! I'm smitten with that little guy.
Those computer gliches are frustrating! Sorry your weather is still crummy. Ours was nice until this weekend, now it is cold and rainy!
I love the pic of Sammy all curled up. My mutt just got up from being curled up on his bed. He is currently peeking around the side of my laptop screen trying to get me to play!
Too bad we didn't live closer then our doggies could play with each other!! He sounds so funny!! Looks like you have a great week of reads coming up on your blog!!!
Our weather is crapola right now…blustery, wet, and cold!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm loving these Sammy pictures! Thanks for sharing! I hope the winds settle down soon. It's been rainy out here.
Sammy is just so darn cute!! Love the pics!
Niec that you got you post back 😀 I never did 🙁 or the comments. Buu blogger.
Sammy, awww, cute pics
I am happy the Blogger debacle is behind us and only had one post to put back on the blog and luckily no harm done to any more…
Sammy you stay cuddled up with Mom there as that is the best place, protecting her while enjoying nap time too!
Oh that Sammy and his antics! I have never before heard of a dog that tries to bury his food bowl! It does sound like he keeps you on your toes though! I hope that this week the wind dies down and that your walks are a little more comfortable for everyone concerned! Have an awesome week, Dar, and give Sammy a hug and a treat for me!
If the wind blows you and Sammy to a doorstep, I hope it's mine! Sammy sounds like he's so much fun!!
Sammy is soooo cute! All the pics of him look great, but I like the second pic the most! 🙂
Hope you have a wonderful week ahead, Dar!
I love coming here on Sundays (or Mondays) for a smile. That Sammy story is so cute!
Our weather is horrible, too, this spring (if you can call it that!). But, rainy days make for good reading, at least!
Have a good week!
Dogs know what they are doing….driving their mom's crazy with their behavior! Have a wonderful week and hope the walks with Sammy get better soon.
Sandy
I'm not too far into Skinny yet. You'll have it finished long before me I think – lol. It's good so far though. I'm looking forward to your thoughts on it as well.
Kaye
I can't wait to see what you think of The Linen Queen. I've been thinking of picking that one up.
Janel
Too cute about Cooper peeking around your screen. If Sammy is up on the couch with me he literally puts his paw on my keyboard and helps me type. lol.
Staci
It would be fun to get together with the dogs if only Sammy wasn't still terrified of other dogs since getting bit on his nose. Poor guy.
Everyone
Thanks so much for visiting! I finally took the rug away from under Sam's bowl yesterday when he completely turned everything over. There was water everywhere. lol.
I love reading your posts on Sunday and seeing that adorable little Sammy!
Hope your weather gets nicer soon. We've had alot of wind this spring too. Temps have been colder. We had upper eighties for two days and then back to fifties. Yuck. But we have had a couple sunny days in a row and warming up a bit.
Finished up audio of What the Dead Know yesterday and listening to Twice A Spy today.
Have a great week!
Sammy is ever so adorable! I really like that little guy and your dialogue. LOL! I had the same problem with Blogger.com too and some comments were gone forever as well. Oh well. Have a great week!
How funny that Sammy buries his food!! I can't even imagine–our dog will eat any food that's left out so we only feed her once a day and she gobbles it up like she'll never get fed again.
Hope some warm weather finally comes your way!
