Sunday Thoughts and Some Winners…

August 14, 2011 by Darlene

Hugs to Everyone…

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope you’re all having a good weekend and getting some reading done. I did have some pictures of Sammy to post today but decided to hold back on a charming and funny Sammy post until next week. This past week several of my blogging friends have lost pets that were very dear to them – Serena, Anna, Jen, and my friend Beth and I want to pay respect to those friends this week. Losing a pet is extremely hard so my thoughts and love go out to all of them.

I’m not doing the best on the reading front – I have a blasted headache for days now but I’m plugging away. Today I’m reading Becoming Marie Antoinette by Juliet Grey and right from the beginning I was drawn into the story so I’m looking forward to getting back to it soon.

I do have some winners for you today though so let’s get to that…

Angel’s Bay Series by Barbara Freethy … CherylS22

The Girl in the Garden by Kamala Nair … Margaret

Driftwood Cottage by Sherryl Woods … Rachel R.

Shadow of a Quarter Moon by Eileen Clymer Schwab … Anonymous

Congrats to you all! I hope you’ll really enjoy your books! And to everyone else, I hope the remainder of your Sunday is spent in some lovely way that you enjoy!

Losing a pet is so sad. It's like losing a member of the family – the one member who loved you no matter what.

    Congratulations to the winners!

It does seem like there are a lot of people saying goodbye to their pets lately. I hope they are all playing fetch at the big doggy park in heaven. 🙂

Thanks for making me smile with the cute pick of Sammy!

Hope your headache goes bye-bye soon. I had the same problem with my sinus stuff. My face hurt along with my head and reading was just not gonna happen.

Every time I read about someone losing a pet, I cry. So so hard, as you and I know. Little balls of fur, wrapped in heartbreak. But they enrich our lives so much. Kick that headache to the curb, girlfriend! Hope you start to feel better!

We said goodbye to a beloved dog last summer so I know how tough it is. Hugs to all who recently lost theirs.

I hope you can get rid of the headache, Dar. Have I told you how glad I am you picked What Alice Forgot for our first book? Loved it!

    Congrats lucky winners!!

I'm dropping in to say hey, babe. I've had my own pet losses of late, as you know. Fortunately, we're all hearty and hale over here.

Sorry to hear about your headache and its interference with the reading. I wish it wasn't so about Charlee, but it was a decision that was right for him. I had to be unselfish. Thanks for the emails and support; I appreciate it.

I can't wait to see the silly photo of Sammy.

    Congrats to all the winners.

It is horrible that so many have lost pets this week, and I can sympathize with how heartbreaking that is. I am still not over the death of my beloved kitty, and it's hard to even sit down to think about him, even after all this time. I will be thinking of all those who have lost their pets this week.

It is so hard to lose a pet. I feel bad for those going through it. It is never easy. I hope your headache is better today. Thanks for giving us a peek at Sammy! He always brightens my day!

Thanks to Sammy for picking winner. I will have to visit those that lost their pets. I was in Canada until yesterday and came home a day early as the sitter said my little girl was missing me. They are like our children.

    Hi Darlene,
I am reading "Biblioholism" by Tom Raabe. Great book for somebody who is an avid reader – explains the behavior of the ultimate book collector.

Darlene, I'm sorry to hear about your headache. I know they can make life miserable, make getting anything done nearly impossible.
