Welcome to Winter!
Good Sunday morning everyone although you can see by the above picture that all is not so pleasant here right now. Yes, that’s right – as usual I spoke too soon about our lovely weather and now look. We got quite a bit more snow after I took this picture and we had gotten over 10 inches of snow already at the time of me writing this and it was still going pretty good. It was snowing and blowing and yucky! I got a kick out of Sam Saturday morning as he didn’t even want to venture out for his first walk. He braved the second one although we didn’t go far. It was hilarious though as we went down the alley and he was running inside the tire tracks which were as high as he is. He’d look side to side and then all of a sudden take a big jump over one. lol. Anyhow, while I don’t like snow and icy roads we did need the moisture so I’ll grin and bear it for now. It’s supposed to snow more today as well so we’ll see how much we end up by the time it’s completely over. Spring isn’t that far off… I hope…
I thought I’d update you all on my tests – thank you so much to those of you who sent me emails. That really meant a lot to me. The one ultrasound I had I do have to wait for results but the other — the one lump I had was in fact a cyst and while it’s quite big it’s not bothering me and we’re leaving it alone for now. Unfortunately though I do have one that is not normal and I have to go back in six months for another look. If I notice any changes or if they do at that time, it’ll be a biopsy. So, while I’m worried I’m trying not to really think about it for now. Thank you all for your well wishes and all that good stuff.
Ok, let’s see what’s up for this week. Well my reading has been going pretty good. I’m not getting as much done as I’d like to but at least I’m not in a slump. What I do need to do is clean up this blog a bit and get some monthly updates done and – I know this is bad, but I need to catch up and do last years because I still want a record of my reading for last year. What am I reading right now – Insatiable by Meg Cabot in preparation for Overbite which I’m reviewing later this week and also The Book of Lost Fragrances by M.J. Rose for later this week as well. I haven’t started The Book of Lost Fragrances yet but Insatiable is pretty good! Anyhow, here’s a look at the week ahead…
Monday – Guest Post with Nicole O’Dell, author of Girl Talk and Giveaway
Tuesday – Review of The Book of Lost Fragrances by M.J. Rose
Wednesday – Guest Post with Donna Russo Morin, author of The King’s Agent and Giveaway
Thursday – Guest Post with M.J. Rose, author of The Book of Lost Fragrances
Friday – Review of Overbite by Meg Cabot
Saturday – Book Spotlight and Giveaway of The Sister Queens by Sophie Perinot
Yes, another very busy week. Oh well hopefully I can do a few posts ahead of time and then it’s not so bad. I usually sit down during dinner and get my posts done or when Sammy is napping otherwise it’s impossible to concentrate. So, I hope you’ll all join me for another fun filled week at the blog!
Well I do have a few pictures of Sammy enjoying the snow for you this week. I’ll tell you though it is close to impossible to get pictures of this guy outside. He does so many funny things out there until the camera comes outside and then that’s it. He stops, gives me the ‘look’ and heads for the stairs or if he’s inside the house turns around and walks away. It is so frustrating! I hope you enjoy the ones I did manage to get!
Hello everyone! Boy oh boy there is a lot of snow here to play in. But… she has that camera… I’ll just scoot up the stairs instead. Ooops, I guess not. She booted my butt back down. Guess the camera stays.
Kind of hard to see with all this snow blowing in my eyes. Do you see how big that snowbank is beside me? Where did that come from? It wasn’t here last night…
Ok, I’ve rooted through the snow a few times and I’m ready to go in. The truth is I’m sick of that camera mommy keeps following me around with. Can’t a puppy just come out and play without being bugged all the time by his mommy.
Ok mommy. Enough is enough. Do you see this snow falling on me and my snowy booties? It’s about time we get inside for that treat of mine!
Now for some book winners and there’s quite a few since I forgot to do the two from last week. Congrats to all…
The Summer Garden by Sherryl Woods — Kitty
Holly’s Inbox by Holly Denham — Cassandra G

So, that’s all for this week for me. What about you guys? What have you been doing and reading? I hope you all have a great week. I’ll be busy trying not to get buried in all my snow. lol. Sammy sends out Sammy slurps to all his fans…
Hi Darlene!
Omg! I didn’t know you had tests done. I’m glad that the one is benign. I’ll keep you in my prayers. Hope all goes well.
Sammy’s little snow muzzle is soooooo cute! Actually, you and Sammy should trade places with me and Copper. We LOVE snow! And we haven’t really gotten any this winter. Just a little bit. The little bit we did get, Copper played in it like a maniac. Here are some pics:

Anyhow, I hope your reading goes well! Best of luck with everything!
Melissa
Dar, I love the pics of Sammy. Love his cute plaid coat too. I’ll continue to keep you in my prayers.
Sammy is too cute in his snow gear! Have a good week, Dar. {{{Hugs}}}
Ha! I was just going to comment about how cute Sammy looks in his coat and how we just had crappy weather too! But then I noticed my name! I won, yay!
Thanks!
I love the smudge of snow on his mouth! Haha! I don’t know what happened to the winter down here. I think I’ve worn a jacket maybe five times. Dar I had no idea you were having tests…I’ve had my head up my butt here recently. Please keep us in the loop, and I’ll keep you in my prayers.
I love it that Sammy’s face is covered in snow. He must have a great time rubbing his face in it! I am so relieved to hear about your tests coming back relatively normal. I know that we have to wait 6 months, but that time will be filled with good thoughts and prayers for you. I hope that you have an excellent week ahead, and I am looking forward to talking to you!
Hi dar I just found your blog because I was looking for a quote from saving cee cee honeycutt and your book review came up. Im so glad to meet you and I am also a memeber of book blog . so you can find me there .
Oh no, I didn’t realize you had tests scheduled either! Sammy is adorable in his winter gear. Zelda wears a coat when we go outside, but what she really needs is those booties… especially after her recent paw injury. Have a great week, Dar.
I’m glad to hear that everything is going okay…and hopefully 6 months from now everything will still be the same. Sammy looks so cute in these pictures! Our puppy won’t walk through the snow hardly so we had to shovel the back patio off 🙂 I love how it looks he has been eating snow..too funny! Hope you have a great week Darlene!
I didn’t know about the tests either! Please keep us posted; you know we will all worry even if you manage not to!
Sammy looks adorable, as usual!
Happy Sunday Dar 🙂 Do keep us posted on the tests, glad the one is a cyst that isn’t troublesome.
Sammy is TOOOO CUTE 🙂 I love that the snow is on his face! lol.
I’m reviewing The Book of Lost Fragrances tomorrow myself. So many books and so little time as usual.
Sammy is so cute. We call that the powdered sugar doughnut look at our house. 🙂
I’ve been thinking about you and hoping those other test results come back OK. Hang in there!
I’m glad the one lump is a cyst. I’ve had one before and it wasn’t a big deal. I’m praying the other isn’t serious since they’re waiting six months to check it again.
Congratulations to the winners!
Sammy is so cute-with his little powder face and red coat. Too bad about the snow.
I do hope all stays good with you. Hugs
Happy Sunday to you and little Sammy!
I am sooooo glad that the one lump turned out to be a cyst, and while you do have one that needs to be watched, I’m banking on it being a cyst too. You’ve been in my thoughts and prayers, Dar, and I’ll keep them headed your way.
Sammy’s boots and jacket are so adorable I can hardly stand it!
Hope your week is a good one. Big hugs to you and your sweet furbaby!
I love Sammy’s coat and boots. Thankful to hear about the lump and praying that good news continues.
So that’s where all the snow is. Nope, 50s here…nice and sunny, though it has been really windy lately. Glad to hear that one ultrasound turned out OK. I hope the second one is nothing…or at least something that can be taken care of easily.
You have a busy week with books. I really loved MJ Rose’s book. And Sammy is too cute in those booties
wow that’s a really great coat! My Marley would wear a tshirt that I fashioned for her last year for the cold we have here in Florida. But this year we’ve had few cold days at all, so no tshirt! Last Friday it was 94 degrees here & then it cooled down to 70 & overcast the next morning. It’s been cool & windy & dreary ever since. So weird this winter we’re having!
Sammy is adorable. Love those booties! My dog is the same way when I get the camera out. I have to sneak and take her pictures.
Will keep you in my prayers that you get only good reports from the doctors.
We got a bit of snow this week too. Not quite as much as you though. Glad to hear one lump was a cyst and will continue to pray that the other one is also a cyst. Sammy looks so cute in the snow. Red plaid looks good on him!
Wow, you had a lot of snow! I hate to say this, but we’ve been so lucky this winter. We did have strong winds last night, but that’s it….shhh…don’t tell anyone.
Hope you have a great week!
My friend! I am so sorry I didn’t know about your health scare. Please accept my apologies for not catching up sooner. Happy nothing too serious for now, and hopefully it won’t ever be. I’ll keep you in my thoughts.
As for the snow and Sammy, sorry to see you with all that snow. Ugh! But I love sammy all dressed up for the great outdoors! the boots are precious!
{{hugs}} and much love. and puppy kisses form Kona
Ah, Sammy looks so cute in his booties and jacket! I hate the snow even more when we get a couple of inches at a time – then the roads are terrible but you’re still expected to be able to get out and about. With 10″ then you have a great excuse to stay in, snuggle up and read. Unless, of course, you’ve gotta get out and wake a little guy! Sorry to hear that you’ve got a medical worry. I imagine that the doctor would be more aggressive if he/she were worried but that doesn’t stop you from worrying, I know!
I didn’t know about the tests, Dar. I hope all will be well and that you’ll be in my thoughts and prayers.
Sammy looks cute as usual. 🙂
I feel like a lousy friend! I had to idea that you were having tests!!! Geesh!!! I will be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. You always have such a wonderful attitude and outlook on life, my friend!!
My hubby would love all of that snow..then he could ride his snowmobile!! Sammy cracks me up!!
Great photos! We guys got walloped with snow. I hope the city works quickly to clear it off the streets and sidewalks. I think we got about 5cm…not very much at all. It wasn’t blowing that much either, but it was still fairly cold.
That Sammy is sure a cutie! I love his jacket and booties.
I’m sending some prayers your way. Take care.
Oh I just love his beard filled with snow!! Too cute!! Poor Romeo hasn’t gotten any snow of worth to play in. I’m sure he would be like a dolphin jumping in and out of it.
Glad to hear that the one test was OK. I’m sure you’re worried about the other one but I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you and sending good thoughts your way.
Hang in there … spring will be here soon!
WOW ..that’s a lot of snow Dar. Sammy looks so cute out there!
Hope your followup tests turn out to be nothing to concern yourself with. Take care.
Thank you Darlene! I’m really looking forward to reading Far From Here and just sent you an email.
We received a sprinkling of snow, though not as much as yours. It didn’t stick but reminded me that it’s still winter. Sammy is as adorable as always. He’s taking advantage of that blast of winter.
Glad to hear that the one lump was a cyst; I’ll be thinking good thoughts for you as you wait on the rest of the results…
Sammy is so cute! My gosh it seems like that snow showed up out of nowhere! I was just saying the other day that I guess we are not going to get any snow this winter — now I’m afraid I may have jinxed it, lol.
I know all will go well for you! My mother suffered with cystic breasts all of her adult life. She had many aspirated and some surgically removed. All were always benign even though occasionally a test would show as ‘abnormal. It’s easy to say ‘Don’t worry’ but hard to do. Take care.
P.S. Is that ‘Kitty’ who won Secret Garden me?

Oh Dar!! I’m running behind on the blogs (as usual) and see that I must have missed something when I did a Mark All Read sweep. I’m really glad to hear that one lump came back as a cyst but I will certainly be keeping you in my thoughts and sending positive vibes your way.
xoxo.
