Sunday Ramblings & Sammy!

April 15, 2012 by Darlene

Snow Again!

Happy Sunday everyone!  Well we’re battling snow here once again.  Not as bad as last week but still snow.  Enough is enough!  I’m beginning to despair of spring ever arriving already.  It snowed all day yesterday and was gloomy on top of it.  You would think that would be a good excuse to read but I had a headache so I didn’t even get any reading done.  On a different note Sammy got his hair done yesterday and he is looking sharp.  I managed to get a few pictures with my iPad of him and they’re further on down the post.  He hasn’t yet wizened up to the fact that mommy can take pictures with her iPad.  lol.

On the reading front I’ve been doing ok.  I’m keeping up to my schedule so that’s good.  I’m reading The Thirteen by Susie Maloney right now and it’s good.  I had just finished Empress of the Seven Hills by Kate Quinn on Friday and loved it.  She’s such a great story teller.  Here’s the week ahead:

Monday – Guest post/Giveaway with Rudy Mazzocchi, author of Equity of Evil

Tuesday – Review of The Thirteen by Susie Maloney

Wednesday – Guest Post/Giveaway with Tammy Hinton, author of Unbridled

Thursday – Review of These Girls by Sarah Pekkanen

Friday – Guest Post/Giveaway with Sarah Pekkanen, author of These Girls

A fairly busy week but I’m trying to leave the weekends open now.  It’s too much sometimes when you don’t even have the weekend as a break.  My moms going in for surgery in another week so I’m hoping to get ahead on a few posts so I have a bit more time.

Now for the Sammy Bear – well he’s feeling better which is good so he’s up to his usual antics.  Having his hair cut really puts him in a tizzy and he spends the whole day being extremely demanding and following me around even more than usual.  I got a few pictures of him – not great ones because he wouldn’t stay still long enough.  I’ll try for better ones during the week.  It’s a lot easier with the iPad.

Really mommy, can’t a dog even chew his treats in peace and quiet???  Maybe instead of my treat I should have your toe in my teeth!

Mommy, did you hear me?  I can’t see how you can ignore this glare I’m giving you!  I’m trying to enjoy a treat here you know!

Yeah I know I’m pretty handsome after my haircut.  Doesn’t mean I like going though.

That’s it for this week.  What did everyone do this weekend? I imagine almost everyone is having better weather than me.  lol.  Anyone reading anything good?  Like I really need anything to add to my already huge TBR pile.  Anyhow, I hope you all have a great week and I’ll be by to visit you on your blogs!

Yikes, snow!?! I hope it melts quickly. Sammy looks so handsome 🙂 The camera on the iPad is pretty nice. I use mine from time to time. Good wishes to your mom.

Mary, the snow never seems to end. It’ll melt fast – the temps will be up this week. The ipad is ideal for fooling Sam. lol.

No wonder you were irritated with my tales of laying by the pool! There was so few places that had much of a winter this year. I hope it melts soon. And I love the new haircut…very handsome!

Sandy, lol – yeah I see green with jealousy when you talk about your nice weather and the pool. We had a nice winter so I guess we’re paying for it now.

We don’t have snow but we had a big thunderstorm last night complete with hail. It scared the kids a bit but I’ll admit that I love a good storm so I was content 🙂 Sammy looks so cute with his hair cut short…I need to take our dog in to be groomed too! I hope that you have a great week Darlene!

Sam, I like a good storm too but I’m wondering how Sammy is going to like them this year. He was still pretty young last year and we didn’t have many. I just hope he won’t bark his head off because he’ll drive me crazy. You have a good week too!

Wow, you’re having snow when it’s so warm here. It has cooled off for us some, but it’s still above average for this time of year. Sammie is a doll and he knows it!

    • admin says

      April 15, 2012 at 6:35 pm

Kathy, I’m so jealous of everyone and their warm weather. I want to wear summer clothes already instead of sweaters. Yes Sammy knows he’s cute and uses it for all he’s worth!

Oh my gosh, Sammy is sooooo cute. I like his new haircut!
Sounds like you’ve gotten plenty of snow over there!
We’ve had such a mild winter here it’s unreal. Were expecting weather in the upper 70’s this week.

      April 15, 2012 at 6:36 pm

Naida, Sammy says thank you. His ears are the cutest when he gets cut – I just love them! We’re going to warm up but nothing like your weather.

JoAnn, yup snow again! lol. Sammy was totally glaring at me in that picture when he realized I must be taking pictures with the ipad.

Like everyone else says “I can’t believe you still have snow”!!! It’s 70+ degrees here, but I won’t rub it in. lol Sammy looks so handsome with new haircut. I so look forward to Sundays to see what the handsom young man has been up to. Best of luck to your Mom, I will keep her in my prayers. Thanks for your hard work keeping us in reviews each week & Sammy stories. Take care. 😉

Diane, it does seem unbelievable that we keep getting snow but we are. It’s supposed to warm up this week but it still won’t be as warm as you are. Thanks for your prayers and for always visiting Sammy and me!

Oh, he’s a handsome fella with his new hair cut! Love all his poses and words! Snow? You must be so sick of it by now. I’ll tell ya, I don’t miss it at all. This first winter in Florida has been great. I sit outside to real all the time…my favorite thing to do!

    • admin says

      April 15, 2012 at 6:40 pm

Linda J, he is cute with his hair cut. I still prefer his longer hair but I love his face cut. I am sick of the snow. I’m really hoping this is the last bout of it!

Same thing here! Last week a LOT, and then this weekend it snowed all of Saturday. Drives me insane

    • admin says

      April 15, 2012 at 6:41 pm

Linda, I didn’t know you were getting snow too. Your weather sounds exactly like ours and we’re so far away from each other. I agree, it’s driving me insane too!

  14. Susan says

    April 15, 2012 at 2:19 pm

Sorry about all that snow! It’s beautiful, but I know you’re ready for spring.

Sammy is a real cutie; he’s extra handsome with his new haircut. 🙂

    • admin says

      April 15, 2012 at 6:42 pm

Susan, the snow is beautiful but not when it should be spring. lol. It does go quickly though so it’s not as bad as when it happens in the middle of the winter.

Love that second picture of Sammy! We were gloomy all weekend, but no snow, just rain. It turned out to be a good thing as I got lots of chores completed around the house.

    • admin says

      April 15, 2012 at 6:43 pm

Nise, we had rain last week and snow and then snow again. lol. Spring has got to come already! You’re lucky you managed to get all that work done. I just can’t seem to get motivated when it’s gloomy out.

Love the pics of Sammy…Wags used to hate getting the beauty treatment too!

I can’t believe you are still fighting the snow…we are in for unusually warm temps this week – more like summer.

Hope your mom is doing okay…enjoy your reading 🙂

    • admin says

      April 15, 2012 at 6:45 pm

Beth, Sammy really wasn’t too happy going this time. He keeps trying to bite my hand all the time. I think he’s mad at me.

Yup, still fighting the snow. It’s supposed to warm up tomorrow and it’s going to be all slushy and dirty again. I can’t wait for it to dry up and to see grass and flowers already.

      Hope you’re doing ok…

He’s looking so handsome!!! Romeo looks like that after he gets groomed and then it gets all wavy and curly and wild. I love the smooth look but I can’t get it on my own.

And I’m sorry you have MORE SNOW! UGH!

    • admin says

      April 15, 2012 at 6:47 pm

Jenners, do you notice that Romeo’s ears are really curly. Sam’s ears look like you braided them and then took it out. It’s all wavy and pretty. lol. As Sam’s hair grows it gets curly like too and it’s so hard to brush. It’s nice and soft though and I love it – if it just didn’t tangle because he buries too many socks and rolls around too much. lol.

SNOW!!!!!!!! Yikes! Let’s hope that the temps start to rise this week and spring comes out to play! Yes, the pup looks pretty dapper with his new hair cut!

    • admin says

      April 15, 2012 at 6:47 pm

Staci, yes – can you believe it? More snow. I’m beginning to think I’ll never wear my summer clothes. lol. Sammy says thank you.

That last picture of Sammy is so priceless. Definition of Puppy Dog Eyes! And I am so sorry about the snow! I’m sure you can’t wait for springtime/summer!

So sorry you had to battle snow again, sometimes winter just hangs on with a vengeance.
Sammy looks as adorable as ever. Glad you were able to distract him with your ipad.
Sorry to hear your mom has to have surgery. Will keep you all in our thoughts and prayers.
We have had really strong winds this weekend. We had a nice warm spell, then went to cold and windy. We had 2.5 inches of rain last night. SW Iowa had a tornado.
I think I told you I had just finished up The Eighty-Dollar Champion by Elizabeth Letts, and I also listened to Paint the Wind by Pam Munoz Ryan. Finished Word on the Street by Rob Lacey too.
    Have a good week!

I love these photos of Sammy. I feel bad that you continue to have snow! We had 80 degree weather over the weekend, and today it’s expected to be about 87! My goodness…where is spring…this is more like summer here. Have a great week!

I wish I could send you some of our 85 degrees plus weather today my friend! May this be the last bit of snow for you. Sammy looks cute as always. My baby is just interested in the photo taking device and can she chew it 🙂
    Have a great week.

I just know that better weather is coming your way! It was 89 here yesterday! Of course the rest of the week its only gonna be 50’s but I’ll take it!

Love Sammy’s new do! Martina wants to know if you’ll come trim her bangs?

I went to PA last week for vacation, posted lots of pics on my itsJUSTme blog.

Also can’t remember if I told you that I did receive “home Front”, looks great!

I hope the snow has melted and you get to enjoy some spring weather. Winter seems to have forgotten us this year and I am not complaining about that! If I could send spring weather your way, I sure would do it!

I hope you and Sammy are having a great week!
