This is my neighbor’s apple tree. Is it not gorgeous! Ours is in a remission this year and only has a few blossoms so I thought I’d take advantage of my mom and dad #2’s next door instead. I think apple trees have to be one of my favorites when they bloom – I love the pure white blossoms.
Good day everyone – although it’s almost over already. It’s been a fairly warm day here today but we just can’t seem to get rid of the wind. Sammy still isn’t fond of the warm weather. Even on our walks his main mission is just to get home again. I’m going to book him in for a grooming appt so maybe it’ll help when he’s a bit cooler. Still it’s nice to finally get flowers and gardens planted and to see flowers! The apple trees are blooming as are others and while they’re beautiful they sure aren’t nice to someone with allergies. Which reminds me I must apologize for being so absent for this last while. I injured my shoulder/neck somehow – well I think it was when I was packing up some books to give to charity and wrenched something. Either way I was totally out of commission and in a great deal of pain. I couldn’t even blog for about 4 days there which is unusual for me and truth be told it’s just finally starting feeling better yesterday. Poor Sammy, always begging to be lifted and I couldn’t. When he gives me that ‘woe is me’ look, my heart melts.
Anyhow, not much else going on. One would think that when you can’t barely move an arm you’d get lots of reading done but that isn’t so for me. I couldn’t even concentrate on reading and it was very frustrating. Anyhow right now I’m reading The Secrets of Mary Bowser by Lois Leveen for review on Monday and I’m really enjoying it. I’m hoping to finish it up tonight as tomorrow one of my best friends is coming over to celebrate her birthday so we’re going to have presents, cake and a movie. I sure don’t want to be finishing up a book and a review then. lol. Other than that next week is completely booked with book spotlights, giveaways and a few reviews – a busy, busy week ahead! I also hope to do some serious blog visiting!

Wowser, is that a lot of winners! To those of you who won the last batch of books – just a note to let you know I’m just going to be sending those in. With not feeling well I didn’t get to them but I am today.
So that’s about it for this week. I’ve got this extra cute picture to share with you this week of Sam. He was sitting in front of me and he has such long ears that sometimes they flop over his head and it just looks too cute. He has the habit when he’s sleeping of flopping them over his eyes. He’s such a personality this dog. His newest game is to bury his sock and then he’ll come and sit in front of me until I get up and go look for it. I go to where he has it and I toss things around asking him where it is and then of course I find it and his little eyeballs get all big and excited so I throw it, he chases after it, and then we start over. lol. That pup of mine has me completely wound around his little paw.
Yup I’m cute! How do you like my new hairstyle – it’s called the Ear Flip.
I hope you all have a great week and will stop by and join in on all the happenings here. I will be visiting this week and getting caught up once again!
I’m so sorry you’ve been in pain and hope you’re back to normal soon. Congratulations to all the lucky winners!
Kathy, I’m pretty much back to normal now – thanks, although I bathed Sam today so who knows how I’ll feel tomorrow. lol.
I love how you have your little game!! That is so cute. Romeo has still not mastered the whole “fetch” thing. He brings it back, puts it by your feet and then grabs it when you go to pick it up. Cracks me up. He has been miserable in the heat too … I’m wondering how short to cut him to give him some relief!? Hope your neck is feeling better!
Jenners, Sam does the exact same thing! lol. Then he takes off running and wants you to chase him. It drives me completely nuts. Sam is really bad for trying to bite your hand too – not really bite but pretend. Does Romeo do that? Like if Sam wants to be picked up, he’ll go to bite you instead of letting you pick him up. He’s crazy. They really do have wacky personalities. lol.
For Sam’s cuts I have them use the #4 blade. It’s not extremely short that they look funny. I should probably go shorter but I just don’t want to. I normally wet Sam down on the hot days a few times a day and feed him ice cubes – that seems to help.
My neck is feeling better – thanks but I gave Sam a bath this afternoon so who knows what tomorrow morning will bring. lol.
Sorry that you injured your neck/shoulder. I can empathize as I have been dealing with the same for four months now. Praying for a speedy recovery. Congrats to the winners. YES, that tress is beautiful. Can’t wait to see Sammy’s new haircut.
Nise, I sure hope mine doesn’t last that long! It just seems to be a really bad body part to injure because you use it so often that it doesn’t heal quickly. I sure hope yours gets better soon – that’s too long to have to deal with that.
Love that Sammy story! What a character. Hope you continue to heal and feel better. And, yes, those apple blossoms are gorgeous!
Linda, Sammy is most definitely a character. He really is a great dog and I’m lucky to have them.
Sorry to hear about your shoulder/neck but how appropriate in a way that it happened in connection with books! The apple tree is gorgeous – I bet I would be sneezing my head off though!
Jill, I never thought about the injury in connection with books but yes I guess everything has to do with books for me. lol. I have been sneezing and my nose runs constantly.
How cool is it that I won The Arrivals!! Yay!! Thanks for the book giveaways.
I’ve been thinking of you all week and hoping that your shoulder gets back to normal. The tree is very pretty. We finally got some much needed rain and it appears to be letting up so that the temps can get up into the steamy 90s today and tomorrow!! Both of my dogs are snoozing away on the couch..they think they are human! Love the new do-Ear Flip! I will see if Daisy would like that done to her!!!
Take care my sweet friend!
Staci, yes you did and I was excited to see your name come up! The shoulder is finally getting back to normal I think – I hope anyway. I gave Sam a bath today and I’m hoping that doesn’t trigger it again. Oh man,l Sammy totally thinks he’s human and that we are his servants. What a life!
Wheeeee, meeeee 😀
Sorry about the shoulder, neck :/ Just take it easy
Linda (blodeuedd), that’s what I’ve been trying to do – just take it easy. Yup, I was excited to see you won!
Spring has sprung for you! No more snow! You have to be relieved. I’m sorry you hurt yourself. Getting older just sucks! I pulled a chest muscle in January and it took two months for it to heal. Sometimes it doesn’t take much to blow out a back or a neck. I love that Sam is such a character. Every animal has a personality that is unique to them.
Sandy, it does finally appear to be spring but it’s still pretty cool in the mornings and truthfully we really couldn’t rule out a freak snow fall. It happened once in July.
You’re right, getting older does suck – big time. When you’re young you can do pretty much anything and live through it. Not so much now – even reaching for books is dangerous. lol.
Sam does have his own personality. He may look a lot like the Budster but he’s his own little self and I’m glad.
So cute. 🙂 Sam is growing up so quickly! I feel pretty guilty that I haven’t been by in so long. Work has been a real nightmare this year, so I kept thinking I was going to have to turn in my book blogging card out of neglect. Thankfully, I have time again to stop by and say hi. I love the look of the blog!
Hi Becky! Oh my, I’m the same with getting around to blogs now. I don’t know how I did it before because I seem to be really bad at it now. Thanks for popping by though to check in on Sammy and I! I need to check in at yours too – I hope you don’t give it up even if you can’t blog as often as before.
Yay! Congrats everyone! Sammy is soooo adorable! Please let me know what information you need. I hope you feel better soon.

Wendy, Sammy says thank you and I got your info so we’re all set. Congrats on winning the book.
I’m so sorry about your arm — I hope it finishes up healing quickly! Love the picture of Sammy, what a sweetheart!
Melissa, hi! My gosh, it’s been a long time. I see you started up your blog again. I’ll have to pop by and see what you’ve been up to. It’s nice to see you again and yes Sammy is most definitely a sweetheart.
Hi Dar. I hope your shoulder is better.
hugs to Sammy 🙂 I love this time of year when everything is in bloom.
Naida, the shoulder is feeling better. I love this time of year too because everything is so pretty but it does wreak havoc on the allergies.
Hope you are feeling better.
Congrats to all the winners.
I am happy to be one of them, how do I get in
touch with you.

Marjorie, I am feeling better. Thank you. I have your info now so we’re all set.
That apple tree is just gorgeous! And Sammy is pretty cute himself 🙂 Sorry to hear that you were hurting but I’m glad you are starting to feel better. And it sounds like you’ve got a great week planned out on your blog. I’ll be looking forward to all of your reviews!
Sam, I just love apple trees when they’re in full bloom. One of my neighbors has a white one and then a pink one in full bloom beside it. I’m hoping I can get a picture tomorrow before the blooms fall off. I am starting to feel better – thank you!
So sorry to hear you hurt your neck and shoulder. I hope you are feeling better soon. Sammy brought a smile to my face today. I can’t help but smile when I see and read about him and his antics! And I see I even won a book! I have been wanting to read Ninepins so it is a great win for me! Thank you Dar for making my day!
Beth(bookaholicmom), I am feeling better but I gave Sam a bath today so we’ll see how tomorrow is. I’m glad Sammy could bring a smile to your face especially right now. He’s sending you a puppy hug and a lick. Yes you won a book. It was exciting to see a few of my old regular bloggy friends win this week! Hug to you my friend.
Hope you feel better soon. Pain is not a good thing.
Sammy is so cute.
Yes I agree Apple Trees in bloom are beautiful.
Can’t wait to read A Gift for My Sister. Thank you.
Beckie, thanks. I am feeling better and I agree pain is horrible. Sam is most definitely a cutie and he knows it. I got your info for the book so we’re all set!
Dar, that tree is magnificent, and I can only imagine all the varieties of birds that it attracts. I am sort of a bird nut at the moment, and am loving sitting close to the window and watching the world outside. Sammy is just as cute as he has ever been, and I love seeing him here every weekend!
Heather, I know you’re into birds right now. My mom really loves them too. so far it’s really the robins hanging around and then these really teeny tiny birds. I don’t even know what they are. Sam is a cutie for sure – my little baby boy. We need to catch up this week for sure my friend! I’ll text you!
Thanks Darlene
I just got back from the weekend out of town to find your email.
Thanks again, much appreciated.
Glad to hear you’re feeling better.
Congrats to all the winners. I LOVE Sammy’s new haircut:)
Hope your shoulder is better!!
So Sammy doesn’t like it when it’s hot out? My pup loves it! I took an extra long walk up and down hills and I was wiped out. We had plenty of water but that lil’ pup just kept plugging along. Except, when we got home…she slept for two days!! Poor thing. Her little legs didn’t know what hit them.
Love the ear flip! LOL Thanks for the win…and I hope you feel better soon.
