Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
* Grab your current read
* Open to a random page
* Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
* Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
My teaser this week comes from the novel I’m currently reading which is Jill Mansell’s newest called Nadia Knows Best. As usual I’m loving her writing and storytelling. I’ll have my review up this week!
“My sister-in-law pranged her car. Smashed the front wing, just like you did. She was putting her lipstick on, looking in the mirror, when some wall spitefully jumped out and ran into her.” (eBook, advance copy, final printed edition may be different)
I just love her writing and especially the British words she uses and a lot are new to me in this book. Words like pranged have definitely made it into my vocabulary now because I just love the word itself and can’t wait to use it. Front wing is another we don’t use her in Canada. Let’s not forget the story too – it is really good so far but then I didn’t expect any less. I can’t wait to get back to it whenever I put it down!
How about you? Do you have any teaser sentences from the book you’re reading this week? I’d love to read yours so either share yours in the comments or leave me a link to yours. Have a great day everyone!
Nice. definitely readable!
Fun teaser I think the same thing happened to the unlucky girl applying mascara or the guy shaving while he was driving….LOL
That is a pretty cover, and a great quote! I just hate those spiteful walls!
Here’s My Teaser!
What a great teaser! I won a Mansell book recently, and need to give it a try. I have never read anything from her before, but she sounds really fun! Great teaser today, Dar!
Terrific teaser! I also adore British words/slang. One of my favorites is “gobsmacked”. Pranged is good as well. 🙂
I love British chick lit too. I have this one sitting on my nightstand I can’t wait to read it.
Happy reading Dar 😉
I just finished this one and reviewed it today. LOVE it…and Love Mansell.
What a funny teaser. I haven’t gotten around to reading anything by Mansell yet.
I enjoyed this one!
I am a big fan of Jill Mansell. I need to read this one still though!
Hi Darlene! Just stopping into to say hi. Hope you and Sammy are doing well!
