Our sweet peas are holding on in this warm weather although they don’t really smell nice anymore. They’re still pretty though!
Happy Monday everyone. I hope you’re all enjoying what’s remaining of summer. We sure are here as we’ve been having some beautiful weather for our end of summer enjoyment. As anyone who has read for my blog for any length of time knows I do not like winter so I’m just hoping that this warm weather will hold out and the ‘s’ word (sssssh – snow – can’t say it too loud) will not even think about showing up until around December. While I don’t love the fall I do like that it’s a bit cooler out especially for my walks with Sam except that now that he’s cooler when he’s walking he can keep going forever and I can’t. He’s having his hair cut today so that it grows in some in case the weather changes quickly to cold. Guaranteed he’s going to be some upset with me by the time he gets home. I’ll get my camera out and take some pictures when I get him home. Since Sammy just turned two and I saw that Jenners got herself another puppy I went back to reminisce and look at some old pics of Sammy when he was a baby and I wanted to share…
Wow, I can hardly believe he was ever this tiny!!! He’s 28 lbs now! Wasn’t he just the cutest!
And here’s my baby two years later. Still gorgeous as ever. Sorry for the bad quality of the pic. I took it off my iPod and should have used my iPhone instead.
For those following along with my dad’s health I want to say thank you so much for your prayers. I appreciate them so much. He’s now waiting for a surgery date for a pacemaker. As both his upper and lower parts of his heart don’t work properly the pacemaker will be attached by wires to both. I’m really scared about it but I know it’s his only option and I’m more scared of him having a stroke. I’ll keep everyone posted – he should be going in within the next month, but in the meantime I’d appreciate it if everyone could keep up the prayers. I’d also like to thank those of you who have stuck by my blog while I haven’t been visiting yours or blogging as much as usual. I appreciate that as well. I’ve met so many great people since I’ve started this blog four years ago and I’m honored to call many of you friends. Love you guys!
Again, I’m late with book winners. I hope to be able to get the blog back on its feet properly after all this with my dad is properly settled. Until then it may be up in the air. As a note I’m just sending in the book winners from the last draw – sorry. Somehow I totally managed to forget about them. Here are the newest ones…

Wow, that is quite the load of winners isn’t it! That will teach me not to keep up better than I am. Well congrats to you all and I hope you’ll enjoy your books. That’s all for me today. I’ve got a few things that were booked this week so the blog will be a bit busy again. I hope you all have a great week ahead!
Hey Dar! Gorgeous sweet-pea garden! They look so pretty on the side of your house. I am so glad you have been having some nice weather. It is definitely fall here! It has been windy, rainy, and very cool. We have a couple nice sunny days, but my time spent on the porch has shortened.
Wow Sammy was so cute when he was little! That was not that long ago. He is such a nice looking respectable dog now, LOL. He has a nice shape, if you know what I mean.
I do, as always continue to pray for you and your dad. If it is OK with you I will add you to my friends prayer list as well.
Good luck babe, it is so good to hear from you.
Jeez, I am out of the loop, and that makes me feel guilty. Jenners got a new puppy? I’ve been in lala land. I will say a prayer for your dad. I’ve seen pacemakers make all the difference in the world for some people, so crossing my fingers. I love the puppy picture of Sam!! He is so darned cute!!!
The sweet peas are lovely, and well that Buddy is too cute for words.
My mother-in-law had a pacemaker put in Friday before last. The surgery was quick and went very well. She is doing great with it and feels so much better now. I’m sure your dad will do well with it too.
Congratulations to the winners!
Fall is my favorite time of year, but I sure don’t love what comes next! Will continue to keep your father in my thoughts… and it hard to believe Sammy is 2 already. Such a cutie, even all grown up 🙂
Glad your dad is holding his own! I’ve known people with pacemakers and they make remarkable recoveries.
You are great at keeping up your blog. I just went several months without updating mine. Just got lazy. Tending to your dad is so much more important.
Sammy has changed but is just as cute as ever!
Your sweetpeas are lovely. My grandmother always grew them and I can still smell their wonderful perfume.
He is just so darn cute (then and now)! Every year I say I want to do sweetpeas, but never get around to it. I am lazy when it comes to the yard. Taking care of your dad is a priority, don’t feel bad about the blog! Keeping him in my prayers. Congrats to the winners.
Sam was so little! I remember when you first got him, and what a little baby he was. Now he is so big and mischievous! I hope your dad is well, and comfortable. I know the surgery will be ok. Expect a text from me today!
Sweet peas are one of my favorites. They’re doing so well considering it’s late in the season.
I’ll keep sending up good thoughts for your dad. I know it’s a scary time for you, Dar. Please keep us posted.
That Sammy is just too stinkin’ cute!
Awww he used to be so tiny!
Oh whatever with the winners and visiting thing! I’ve hardly blogged this month anyway so you’re missing anything here. Besides, you and your Dad are more important.
I hope once he gets his pacemaker and some cardiac rehab, your Dad is back to his old self. I’ll continue to keep the good vibes going for you and your family.
Sammy is so cute. What a tiny fuzz ball as a puppy!
Your garden looks great Dar…and so does Sammy! Congrats to all of the winners.
The garden looks lovely still….and Sammy is a cutey as always. I’m sorry to hear about your dad…hope that all of the surgery works out.
Awww…Sammy looks adorable! I don’t think I saw his puppy photo before but he was so darn cute. He is still cute now but more mature and handsome. I love that puppy stage but not the behaviors!
I’m continuing to send good thoughts to your dad. I’m sure it is very stressful and worrisome but I think it will all turn out OK. They can do miracles nowadays.
And I don’t think you should ever feel bad when real life keeps you away from blogging. Everyone understands and it will all still be here when you come back.
Hang in there! Hugs!
Hi Dar, Sammy is sooo cute 🙂
They just keep getting cuter don’t they though? Diego’s not much bigger in size than he was 4 years ago, but looking back at his puppy pics, his face and coloring are a bit different.
I’m sending good thoughts your way, and I hope your dad gets well soon. They do work miracles with modern medicine and technology.
Congratulations to all the winners! 🙂
Sammy is so adorable! I will also be sending prayers up for your father.
Thanks Darlene, very glad about the win, and you know we’ll all be sending all the positivity we can for your Dad’s well-being.
I think you have my mailing address. Take care.
Congrats to the winners!
I remember my grama used to plant sweetpeas every year. They had their own area, climbing chicken wire between 2 steel posts.
Congrats to Jenners on Juliet! She’s a sweetie!
Love the pics of Sammy!
We had frost Saturday and Sunday nights but now we are having a warm spell again. If the tree leaves aren’t gone, they are turning color.
Take care of yourself, and prayers for your dad,
The sweet peas are beautiful. They make it still look like summer out there. Even though the trees turn so colorful in the fall the look of summer is always my favorite. Sammy is as adorable now as he was as a puppy. I saw Jenners new pup and now I want one, she’s so cute. When your Dad gets his pacemaker he’ll feel much better because his heart will be working properly. Thank God for the wonders of modern medicine. I’ve worked in the medical field for several years & have seen so many miracles because of it. Hug Sammy for me & maybe give him an extra treat for me. Take care Dar & God Bless. 😉
Love the pics! Thanks for the win, I can’t wait to read it 🙂
Really cute pictures of Sammy! I can relate since I just got a new puppy two weeks ago. See pix over at http://www.thecuecard.com/ Cheers.
Wow,he really has grown up hasn’t he. Loved that baby face. And you know I pray daily for you and your dad!!
Love ya!
Sammy is all grown up. Our pups are about the same age. Mine is also all grown-up and she reminds us of this every day.
What a cute puppy photo. They are so adorable at that stage. I’m not a fan of winter at all, but I do like the first few weeks of Autumn… when the trees are golden and red. Once the leaves fall and the color is gone it’s too gloomy for me, not to mention cold.
Sending good thoughts for your dad. I know how stressful that can be. My dad had a knee replacement recently and no matter how routine the procedure sounds, we still worry. And it’s totally understandable that you don’t have the time to spend visiting blogs right now.
