Happy Sunday everyone! Did you all have a good weekend? We’ve been having some really nice Autumn weather and I’ve been enjoying it. The coolness in the air seems to be getting sharper each day and our weather forecast is now heading downhill. lol. Sammy is taking advantage of the cooler days by doing this…
Awwwwwww mommy, now everyone is going to be teasing me about my chubby little belly…
He looks like quite the chubbums in this picture. lol. I had him at the vet and surprisingly he hasn’t gained any weight since he was there in the beginning of the year so lucky for him the word ‘diet’ wasn’t mentioned. Everyone was laughing at him at the vet and couldn’t believe how nicely he was sitting. He sits on my lap just like a young child would and he just looks around. It’s adorable and I wish I had a picture. I’ll try taking one with my phone next time. I’ve been practicing some of Cesar Milan’s training techniques on Sam and I’m happy to report that they are actually working for me. He is becoming much better behaved on his walks although we still have work to do on the barking at the front door. I had thought I was taking a video for you all of him barking at a dog going by but no, being the bonehead I can be, I forgot to turn on the button for the video. Other than that Sam spends his days playing as you can see… you can also see that he owns a good chunk of the living room…
Mommy, you caught me trying to bury a sock. Could you please mind your own business while I proceed to make sure you never find this sockie again.
In other news my Dad’s surgery for the pacemaker has been booked for October 12 so keep up those prayers please. These next few weeks will be stressful waiting for the day to arrive as I already feel sick over it but I pray that after the surgery he will be on the road to being the man he used to be and therefore much happier – for all of us. I really don’t have a lot booked for after next week on the blog so October will likely be a slow month as I have been kind of staying away from requests in case he was called in.
On another note has anyone else noticed that Network Blogs has gone crazy since they changed it on Facebook. I’m not sure what’s up with it but my followers seem to be disappearing by the minute and it wasn’t until they changed it that it started happening. I’m thinking of pulling it off the blog if it isn’t going to be working properly. I’m also hearing rumors about Feedburner not being around anymore. Can anyone enlighten me on that too? What else can you use for people to subscribe to your blog – are there any other good places out there?
Well that’s all I have for you today. I’m going to settle in and finish up my book, Days of Splendor, Days of Sorrow by Juliet Grey. This is the second in a trilogy of her novels on Marie Antoinette and this one is fantastic as well. Look for my review on Tuesday. As for this week I hope to get some pictures of the leaves turning as I expect this week they will start changing color and I’ll post them for you next week. Maybe some good ones of Sam too I hope providing he lets me. He has even wizened up to the iPad and knows it takes pictures of him. lol.
I hope you all have a great week and again, thank you for the prayers and good thoughts for my dad! Love ya all!
Love the pictures of Sammy 🙂 Adorable doggy!
Can you believe the leaves are turning already? We had a severe drought here in Missouri and all the leaves in our trees are already down – it looks like winter is already here. Our flowers died in July and then came back like it was spring in early September. Even the plant don’t know what to think!
That’s so funny – the first thing I thought when the first picture came up is “wow, Sammy looks big!” And then you wrote, “He looks like quite the chubbums in this picture.” Ha ha – I guess the camera adds pounds to animals too! LOL
I love the cute pictures. Sammy is such a cute dog and I love all your added captions as though you know what he would say. Like all mother dogs do.:) Thought the vet story was hilarious and hope you have fun reading with Sammy. I’ll be doing homework, but later I get to go downtown with RAK and give out hugs. So it will be a good day!
Sammy is pretty smart – I’d love to be lounging around like that right now. I’m so glad your dad’s surgery has been scheduled. My mother-in-law just had a pacemaker installed – the procedure was easy and only required a night’s stay at the hospital and she feels so much better now. I’m praying for the same results for your dad.
Sammy certainly has carved out a big part of the living room as his!! Much like my two have claimed the couch as theirs. I’ve been wanting to buy a new couch because this one is terrible but I might hold off. You know that I will continue to keep your Dad in my prayers. The 12th can’t get here fast enough that is for sure!!! Love ya!
Sammy is too cute! He looks like quite the little spoiled thing. I do Cesar Milans tricks too, he’s got some good ones.
Happy reading Dar 🙂
And I hope all goes well with your dads upcoming surgery.
Dar, I’ve been thinking about your dad. Glad to know you finally have a date and it will be here before you know it. Prayers and hugs going your way.
Sammy sure looks like he’s comfy in your living room and he has enough toys to keep him busy. So cute!
I have no idea about feedburner or networked blogs and what’s going on with them. All that tech stuff drives me nuts. Why can’t they leave well enough alone? *sigh*
Hey Dar. That Sammy is a cute one! Animals always look chubbier when they lie down. When he is standing up he looks thin.
You and your dad are on 2 prayer chains here! I just know everything will go fine. It is scary though, and surgery is scary. It is all the unknown, and you are totally putting your trust in someone else – the surgeon! Put your trust in God – everything will be fine.
Love ya babe!
BTW – If you don’t mind me asking – What is your dads first name?
Your dad has been on my mind as well. I will pray for him to have a smooth surgery that helps him get back to his normal self. And I am just a little jealous of your little guy. A nap sounds like the perfect idea!
Happy Sunday to you and little Sammy! I just love it when you post photos of him; he is too stinkin’ cute!
Glad to hear Sammy’s training is going well. Cesar Milan is such a wonderful man, I always enjoy seeing him work with dogs.
I’m keeping your dad in my prayers, Dar.
Sammy is such a cutie 😀
You can tell that Sammy rules the roost in your house. He’s lucky he is so well loved!! I know this is a hard time for you with your dad’s surgery coming up. Praying that this will help his heart issues. ((Hugs))
Sammy looks SO cute in those pictures! I love it! I’ll be sending lots of prayers your way Darlene and you both will be in my thoughts!
Glad to hear you finally have a date for your dad’s surgery. I hope that all goes well. I’ll be sure to send all positive thoughts.
Sammy is too cute…I love that you catch him in the act!
As for feedburner, yes, it is going away. I’m reverting to my normal site feed for now and using Mail Chimp for email subscribers. I am still researching the use of Feedblitz, which is a pay service, but if you are paying for it, you’d expect them to give you support, etc. especially when you have no clue what you are doing. LOL
It’s nice to catch up with you. I’m behind on the Feedburner stuff going on as well, but I better hop on it soon!
I’m also reading Juliet Grey’s second book. I kind of like it, but I also have some mixed emotions. Honestly, I think I’m just reacting to that tumultuous time in her story maybe?
Do you think Sammy has enough toys?? LOL cute as ever.
Best wishes for your dad. My father got a pacemaker quite a few years ago and all is good. So hope that will be the same for him
My mom had a pacemaker put in some years ago, Dar, and my prayer for your dad is that his surgery will be as smooth and successful as hers was. The monitoring that they can do after they have the pacemakers is amazing – my mom does most of hers by phone – so they can find and fix problems so easily.
Sammy sure looks comfy! Glad your training is going well. Keeping your dad in my prayers!
Sammy is a super cutie! Best of luck to your dad. Please send some autumn weather my way–we are expecting yet another heat wave!
Our weather has also turned to Fall and the wind has a bit of bite of it indeed! I like it now, but I’m sure I’ll be complaining in a few weeks.
I will keep you in my thoughts on the 12th. Be strong my friend and know I’m here for you. Rub Sammy, he’ll make you feel better. That’s what doggies do 🙂
{{HUGS}}
Oh and yes I’ve been out of the loop but apparently feed burner is disappearing. I have no other ideas for you, sorry! But you’re not alone.
Sammy is so cute! I love his tummy … Juliet has a little poochie too. : ) And the toys … Lord, the toys! My living room is covered in dog toys. I put them away every day and then they are everywhere again by the end of the day.
Continuing to send good thoughts to your dad. I’m sure it is stressful.
I’ve been hearing about the Feedburner thing too. I think I’m going to have people resubscribe and just go to the plain old RSS feed. I read that you don’t really need a feed service … plain old RSS will work fine. We’ll see — it seems to be the thing going on right now.
I haven’t noticed anything with Networked Blogs but I’ll check to make sure it is working for me.
Sammy is too adorable. Our dog is happy the weather’s cooled down some too.
I’ll be keeping you dad in my prayers.
