The River Valley covered in snow. There’s some beautiful walkways and such and it’s a wonderful place to take a walk when it’s not too cold.
Happy Sunday everyone! What are all of you up to this weekend? Well this should come as no surprise but it’s snowing here again. Yup, more snow. I can’t believe it already – this is the worst winter we’ve had in years and I’ve had enough. Not that Mother Nature cares that I’ve had enough but I can still voice my frustration. It has thankfully warmed up though – at one point last week we were at forty below with our windchill. That’s already dangerous weather as you can’t even step outside if everything isn’t covered up so I’m glad that passed through. Anyhow as usual Sam is loving the snow as you’ll see in a picture below. I’ve got to remember to take a video with my phone when we go walking and he’s dragging his head and body through all the snowbanks for next week. It’s hilarious.
As for reading I’m savoring Temple of a Thousand Faces by John Shors (be sure to enter my giveaway if you haven’t already). I am loving it. It’s a chunkster so it’s one of those perfect books that you can really sink into and enjoy for a while. I’m also reading Shadow on the Crown by Patricia Bracewell and it’s really good as well. One is a paper copy which I can only read in the daytime and one is a digital for nighttime reading. The joys of getting older when you can’t see paper copies at night anymore. lol. So those reviews will be up at the end of the week and the beginning of the week will be devoted to a few book spotlights and giveaways so I hope you’ll pop in and check them all out.
Now on to Sam. I got a few pictures of him although it’s like pulling teeth sometimes. I beg him to turn around and he adamantly ignores me. I got a few more under the covers because I can’t resist them – they are so cute. Enjoy…
Sometimes I like to do naughties up against these things but mommy gets a little excited when I do. There shouldn’t be so many of them standing there tempting a puppy like me since they look a little like trees if you want my opinion. Sometimes I like to chase them when one of my humans is pushing them along the sidewalk – that’s pretty fun too!
This is my favorite snowbank. I come from my walk and hop right up on it. Mommy says I’m going to roll myself right off the other side onto that sidewalk but I don’t think so…
I’m really tired but she insists on pointing that iPod of hers at me whenever I bury myself under my favorite blankie. Oh well it must make her happy because she does a whole bunch of oooooooooohs and aaaaaaaaaaaaaaahs when I do it so I guess it’s ok.
Ok, enough mommy. It’s sleepy time for me. I know I’m cute but I want to sleep already. I love everyone on your blog too but two pictures is enough when it’s bedtime for puppies.
I didn’t want my picture taken and nor did I want to have the hair trimming that mommy had every intention of giving me. What do I care if I can’t see out of my eyeballs anymore. I know where my food is and my treats – that’s good enough for me so I stuck my tongue out at her. She laughed – that wasn’t quite the effect I was looking for.
Bye everyone. Have a good week. Mommy and I send hugs to all of our bloggy buddies.
Isn’t he the sweetest! I just love him so much and he’s such a cuddle bunny. I’m very blessed to have him in my life. I hope you all have a great Sunday with family, friends, or just relaxing and reading a good book which is exactly what I’m going to do.
He is the sweetest 🙂 I love the Sammy pics. And the first one is beautiful despite the snow. Enjoy your reading this week!
I am glad he is loving all that snow
Thanks for the smiles, Dar. Sammy is adorable. I shivered When I saw all those snow shovels. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr. . . {{{hugs}}}
He is so adorable, the way he smushes his face in the snow! Good thing he is a snow dog and not a Florida dog! I can’t even imagine 40 below wind chill. It has been in the forties at night down here and everyone is complaining.
Those pics of Sammy are adorable! He really is photogenic. Love how he snuggles beneath the blankets after a cold day playing in the snow.
Happy Sunday to you and your best fuzzy friend!
Happy Sunday Dar. That first shot is so pretty and Sammy looks like he loves the camera too!
I’m a fan of John Shors, happy reading 🙂 It snowed here last night too, so I’m avoiding looking or going outside…lol. I’m so ready for winter to be over, that I put my downpayment on the cabin by the lake for the summer already…lol.
Oh my gosh that little snow covered nose says it all. So cute!
SO CUTE ! It’s so fun watching them romp around in the snow.
I love all the pics you post of Sam. He is such a cutie. xoxo
He is sweet!! I love that view you posted and how can you not love living there when it looks so idyllic?? But I so get you with the arctic blasts…hate them!! It won’t warm up here until mid-week….high 20’s will feel like a heatwave!!
I will be reading Shors book soon, glad to hear that you’re loving it!!
Take care!
Aw, Sammy’s so adorable – I can’t believe how much he loves the snow. We have had a very mild winter this year. I can’t even imagine weather that cold.
Love the picture of Sammy and his snowbank! We’ve had so much snow and cold this winter, but luckily were able to escape to Florida for part of January. Now I’m counting the days until spring 😉
Love the snow and Sammy photos:) Have a good week Dar.
At someone is enjoyed the snow! We got lots in the last week as well. Have a great week.
Love Sam =) I concur with the comment you left on my blog about there being so many good historicals coming out this year. I am going to have to pick and choose between them and remind myself that it is going to be okay that I don’t read everything that is coming out. There is always the library for my future reading pleasure! I tend to always jump at the chance to review the next-best-book and I must stop and remind myself that I have 800 books at my house waiting for me.
It sounds as if you’re feeling much better, Dar. I’m so happy about that. Thank you for all these wonderful photos of Sammy, I love seeing hime dressed in his jacket and out in the snao and then peeking out from under the covers! He looks adorable sticking his tongue out while his hair covers his eyes…what a little ham he is.
It’s wonderful what a comfort and what fun our fur children are.
I’m really looking forward to your upcoming reviews. Enjoy reading!
Sam’s snow antics make the snow a bit more bearable! Why does winter seem to be so long? I hop you get a break in the weather soon. Sam is so adorable and entertaining! For a dog who dislikes having his picture taken, he sure takes some great photos! I’m glad you have him in your life!
I just love this Havanese breed. They are so so fun and cute and loving. I can’t get enough!!
Poor Sammy, all tired out from the snow. And I can’t blame him… I’d be exhausted if I had to play in all that snow too. I’m soooo glad the snow has mostly forgotten to come to Chicago this winter.
The snuggly blanket photos are my favs.
That picture of the valley is beautiful. Sending warm thoughts your way sweetie!!
Sammy is just so darn cute! My kids would be loving all that snow but I bet you are a bit tired of it! I hope you are having a wonderful weekend Darlene!
