Thank goodness it’s the weekend! To round out the week I’ve got a book that sounds fabulous to spotlight for you and that is The In-Between Hour by Barbara Claypole White. Not only do I love the cover of this book but it also sounds like just the kind of story I like to sink into. As with all of my reading this month my apologies to the author for not having a review ready but I do have her book at the top of my list just as soon as I can get my Sammy’s health stabilized and I can fully concentrate and enjoy a good book again. He has started eating a bit more again and that alone is a blessing. I have to take a moment and thank Barbara for being extra understanding. She sent along her info and her wish that Sam be well along with thanking me for taking the time to post this. It is authors like Barbara that keep me blogging and spreading the word about good books!
Barbara is touring with TLC Book Tours though so please pop on over there for the other tour stops to see what other great bloggers think about the book! For now I’m going to share with you all what the book is about and a bit about the author plus a great giveaway at the end of the post. Enjoy…
THE IN-BETWEEN HOUR
What could be worse than losing your child? Having to pretend he’s still alive…
Bestselling author Will Shepard is caught in the twilight of grief, after his young son dies in a car accident. But when his father’s aging mind erases the memory, Will rewrites the truth. The story he spins brings unexpected relief…until he’s forced to return to rural North Carolina, trapping himself in a lie.
Holistic veterinarian Hannah Linden is a healer who opens her heart to strays but can only watch, powerless, as her grown son struggles with inner demons. When she rents her guest cottage to Will and his dad, she finds solace in trying to mend their broken world, even while her own shatters.
As their lives connect and collide, Will and Hannah become each other’s only hope—if they can find their way into a new story, one that begins with love.

BARBARA CLAYPOLE WHITE
English born and educated, Barbara Claypole White writes and gardens in the forests of North Carolina. Her husband is an internationally-acclaimed academic; their son is an award-winning young poet / musician. His battles with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) have inspired her to write stories that find healing and hope in the darkness of invisible disabilities such as severe grief or clinical depression. Her characters are quirky and damaged, but they always find the light through the trees (a recurring image in her writing). The Unfinished Garden, Barbara’s debut novel, won the 2013 Golden Quill for Best First Book. I have not read anything by this author and would love to.
I love this author so much. I read her first book and it was incredible.
I am glad to hear that Sammy is back to eating a little! My dog doesn’t like to eat a lot at one time so I’ve been feeding her 3 small meals a day. Maybe you should try feeding Sammy more often if you haven’t already. I’m keeping you and Sammy in my thoughts.
